In some places, "Tai Ping Ching Chiu" festival is held it every five years but in most places it is held once every ten years. A few places hold it less frequently. Sheung Shui is one place which holds it only once every sixty years. The last celebration, in year 1946, had to be quite small due to problems in the immediate post-War period. So the 2006 celebration was highly spectacular and planned for over a year.
In Sheung Shui, the "Tai Ping Ching Tsiu" festival lasted for 5 days and nights.
