The Central plains area is the area around Bangkok. It is often called the rice attic of Thailand as there are three rice harvest per year.

This huge fish pond is one kilometer long! It includes ten thousands fishes.
The owner catches fishes once a week. Target is for his own consumption and for selling also.
Due to hot weather, many fishes sometimes die due to lack of oxygen.

fishes to die during the hot season.

Some people build fish ponds close to their home to be able to survey easily
their fishes. It often causes mosquitoes proliferation.

Many Burmese people are working in Nakhon Pathom province. Many of them are involved
in seafood business, i.e. in local markets, factories or shrimp fields to catch them
in early morning (ลากุ่ง).

A shrimp pond can contain up to 20,000 shrimps.
A pump can be rented 500 THB a day. Petrol has to be paid by the farmer. The pond
has to be emptied from time to time for cleaning.
Many farmers changed from rice farmer activities to fish / shrimp pond activities due to rice low price concerns.
- Cultivation
Some local villagers are growing vegetables and herbs on canals.
