It is opus 10 regarding Boonchu saga. Unfortunately director Bandit Ritthakol just died in 2009 when doing the movie pre-production so Kiet Kijcharouen has directed this movie. Boonchoke is going to Chiang Mai to study to university. His parents, Boonchu and Mo, let him go alone so that he can acquire more independence. He meets a lovely girl called Khun Chahom. He is sharing a flat with a new friend called Mor. Mor teaches Boonchoke what is correct or not when talking to ladies. Mo is two months pregnant but doesn't say to Boonchu as she is afraid he will not let her visit their son in Chiang Mai. Meanwhile Boonchu and his friends head to Chiang Mai. On the way they meet the same restaurant owner present in all previous movies opus. Director Kiet Kijcharouen’s talent is to handle well the gags and they are not seen as a patchwork of assembled jokes often seen in some other modern Thai comedies. Boonchu visits Chiang Mai night market with his friends but his wallet is stolen. The owner has some “Ong Bak” skills so he can avoid being caught. Finally a young and mysterious lady helps to catch him and gives back his wallet to Boonchu. Boonchu and Mo cannot meet Boonchoke on the following day as he has gone hiking in the forest with his friend Mor. They face some wild animal smugglers. Luckily a young lady called Champa help them. They release the animals. She is Chahom's sister and is also the one who helped Boonchu. Captured by the smugglers, they succeed to escape and meet again Boonchoke’s parents. On the following day Champa learns that the smugglers plan to cut an one hundred years tree in the forest. She decide to oppose again. Boonchu and his son go also as Champa helped them before. During the arguments (Thai generations heritage protection versus immediate money) with the ruffians, Boonchu is shot in the chest. A sad song of life is played (คนดีของไทย) as Boonchu is seriously injured. The movie finally ends happily, i.e. the tree is saved, ruffians captured, Boonchu recovers and is very happy to learn that he is going to be a father a second time. As usual with Boonchu movies, there are many good feelings and messages regarding environment in this last opus.

A turbulent boy, called Yung, becomes a Buddhist novice. It is a relief for the village as this boy spent his time annoying villagers. A ghost is seen inside the village Buddhist temple. Villagers use talismans (ของดี) to protect themselves against the ghost. The ghost, called Tik, is pacifist and even funny (ผีตลก). Tik is Yung's father. He requests his son to find his wife (Yung's mother) with whom he misbehaves before. They are going to Bangkok. The mother, called Tom, is working in a Karaoke. Tik cannot rebirth (เกิดใหม่) if Tom doesn't forgive him. Chao, Tom's father, tries to help. Tom is protected by a mafia boss. The mafia boss shots Tom. Both Tom and Tik can rebirth happily. This movie is another ghost comedy with Buddhist monks. This comedy includes visual gags, sonorous gags, witty riposte in dialogues. It is targeted for a rural audience public. This movie messages are related to gratitude (กตัญญ) over parents and to always try and never give up. It is a typical comedy movie of 2000s decade, i.e. quite pleasant to see (หายความเครียด) but immediately forgotten.

Many years have passed. Boonchu and Mo have a son called Boonchoke. Boonchoke is now a Buddhist novice since many years. Boonchu is happy about that as he doesn't have any problem with his son. Mo disagrees and secretly she succeeds to have Boonchoke disrobed and sends him from Isan to Bangkok to attend university. She asks her old Bangkok friends to support Boonchoke. All Boonchu and Mo's friends are now parents also so their kids support Boonchoke. Boonchoke is chasing a young lady who stole his wallet. Same as his father he failed the first year exams as he helps this young lady chased by a gang. This opus 9 plays with nostalgia with participation of all former actors that played in Boonchu serie twenty years ago. It is adapted to modern movie style but still maintaining the atmosphere of earlier episodes with similar jokes from Boon Chu and his son, good-hearted country bumpkins. Boonchu 9 cleared 15 million baht over the first four-day period. This remake couldn't be the same without Jintara Sookkapat and Santisuk Promsiri as Boonchu.

The comedy Bus Lane was a big success with 85 million baht in ticket sales. The story takes place on a Songkran festival afternoon. A Bangkok bus is piloted by an irritable driver, who is seconded by an abusive ticket collector. The assortment of passengers is a collection of characters often seen aboard Bangkok buses. When the driver, upset by some water-throwers, skips a stop, a passenger raises a tumult. The man finally pulls out a gun and forces the driver to keep driving further away from Bangkok. Funny and lively interaction then happens between passengers. The movie examines human virtues and selfishness in the face of situational crisis.

Thai movie Baan Phi Pop / บ้านผีปอบ opus 7 was released in year 1992 and lasts 1h31mn (35mm film). A villager called Somsree is killed. The village headman (ผู้ใหญ่บ้าน) really wants to get rid of Ya Yip (ผีปอบหยิบ), the "Phi Pop" ghost. So, he announces a 10 000 baht reward to catch Yip (Natanee Sitthisaman). A "Phi Pop" (ผีปอบ) is an evil spirit believed to possess a person and eating his intestine while also forcing him/her to seek and consume raw animal organs and meat at night time. Bangkokian doctors and nurses come to the village to check villager’s health. Chat (Kiet Kijcharouen) is still the doctor helping villagers. It is his last participation in “Baan Phi Pop” movies serie. Mae Sri Nuan and another lady villager, Kam Thong, are Phi Pop ghosts but nobody is aware except Plung (จิระ แสงโชติ์), who is Kam Thong’s boyfriend. He wishes to find a solution for Kam Thong to be back as a normal person. It is happy time in the village. Tank (Tongchai Prasongsanti), the village headman’s son, is marrying Nong Oon. Many gags happen about his incapacity and unawareness about how doing marital duties. A beggar is wandering around the village and is mistaken as a Phi Pop ghost. Tank's father still continues to try seducing Mae Sri Nuan. Kam Thong's boyfriend, Plung, wishes to help her but cannot prevent her to eat raw intestines. Kam Thong flees and goes to mountain "Doi Phi Fa" (ดอยผีฟ้า). A search is organised to find her. The story goes outside the village for the first time and is shot in ‘Khao Phra Wiharn’ (เขาพระวิหาร) where is located the famous Khmer temple ‘Prasat Preah Vihear’ always under dispute between Cambodia and Thailand. A nun (แม่ชี) finds her and announces that only the local deity (เจ้าผีฟ้า) can help her. She goes to the old Khmer temple to pay respect to the deity. Ya Yip joins the villagers’ trip to search for Kam Thong and, as expected, brings troubles (สร้างความวุ่นวาย). Kam Thong has a vision under a waterfall. Her ghostly status remains unknown and will be disclosed in the next sequel “Baan Phi Pop 8”. This movie still features similar gags as previous “Baan Phi Pop” movies as it includes pursuits in accelerated motion. Such movies serie has its fans as 13 sequels were done. Latest gadgets used by Ya Yip include a stand-up- electric-scooter (ขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์). Such movies had small budget. Such movie was shot in 35mm format but still dubbed afterwards as it was cheaper and allows excessive funny voice dialogs and sound effects.

Thai movie ตัณหาพระจันทร์ ภาค 2 / Midnight Shade 2 was released in year 1990. A few versions are available. It is available under VCD format with company Happy Time (1h07mn) and also with company Lepso (1h30mn). Lepso company version is coming from the VHS version. Happy Time version is censored as hot scenes are cut. The VHS version is also cut making the horror movie a bit awkward to watch. Such low cost budget movies mix horror, funny sequences, a few erotic sequences and limited Fx effects. It seems to be a popular pattern in Thai horror movies in 1985~1995. A new doctor (Ekapan Banleurit) is arriving in a remote village. On the way to the village, he found a dead body. It seems that such deaths are happening frequently and recently in the village. Pim and Somkiet (Kiet Kijcharouen), working in local clinic, welcome the new doctor and his two nurse assistants. An injured man is chased by three hunters. Champee (Trirak Rakkarndee) asks for doctor’s help but the injured victim is no longer there. Villagers believe in Phi Pop ghost. A "Phi Pop" (ผีปอบ) is an evil spirit believed to possess a person in order to eat his intestine while also forcing him to seek and consume raw animal organs and meat at nighttime. An old man Pho Khaem and his daughter Champee are accused to be Phi Pop ghosts as some villagers are killed. Uncle Boon is the one to spread those rumours. The doctor has to fight again the villagers' old beliefs and to find who has done the murders. Uncle Boon uses old methods such as whipping a sick young lady called Kathin having fever as he believes she is possessed. Doctor Ekapan disagrees (หมอยาเม็ด). Kathin dies but the doctor cannot do an autopsy to know the death symptoms. Lamduan, daughter of uncle Boon, is close to Champee and doesn’t believe her father. Uncle Boon (หมอ) provides an oil charm as one villager called Thap is enamoured with Champee. Uncle Boon uses black magic (วิชา) to control villagers with fear. Nurse OnNut is aggressed, raped and killed at nighttime by an evil spirit (วิญญาณร้าย). Lamduan is found dead. Villagers accuse Champee (ผีสิงในตัวของเขา). Doctor Ekapan helps her before the villagers shoot her. Thap is injured while protecting Champee. Ekapan notices that Pim takes a lot of blood from Thap during blood test. He follows her and understands that the blood is used to give life to an evil spirit (เสือสมิง). The evil spirit has possessed Pim a long time ago when she failed to execute properly black magic. The evil spirit kidnaps Champee and kills her father. Ekapan interposes but he is injured. Hopefully another spirit doctor helps to neutralise the evil spirit. Peace is back in the village.

The fourth opus of "Baan Phi Pop" (บ้านผีปอบ) continues with the same characters. Some students come to stay in a countryside house taken care by Ya Yip (หยิบ) and the local sorcerer. The students almost get all killed except three who succeed to flee. In the village a lady called Mae Srinuan gets interest from a few old bachelors. She is seen as a "Phi Pop" ghost but some bachelors don't believe in it. Mae Srinuan kills a young girl, called Tien, who was waiting for her boyfriend at night time. The three remaining stranded students arrive in the village. One of the students has the same face as the young villager girl who just died so it creates confusion in the village. The students help the Bangkokian doctors coming to the village to treat local villagers. During a last fight between Mae Srinuan and the local sorcerer, the local sorcerer gets stabbed and is reduced to ashes. Nothing new in this fourth opus with similar recipes as previous movies. Old "Phi Pop" characters die and new "Phi Pop" appears. Only Ya Yip remains. Similar pursuits in accelerated motion with various gags still happen. Villagers wear armours to prevent "Phi pop" ghosts eating their intestines. Villagers also use guns loaded with syringe to put to sleep Ya Yip but they confuse anesthetic and methamphetamine (ยาบ้า) so making Ya Yip overexcited! Each movie opus brings modern items in the village such as skateboard. Sometimes the movie serie looks like a cartoon where "phi pop" ghosts chase and try to catch the villagers and Bangkokian doctors. The villagers and Bangkokian doctors have to use more and more clever tricks and technics to escape the ghosts. The ghosts also try various technics to catch them and even use modern vehicles (skateboard, flying bicycle...) to run faster.

This movie is Baan Phi Pop (บ้านผีปอบ) opus 6. Number 5 was skipped as another team made their own Baan Phi Pop serie. The first opus of the new serie was renamed from Baan Phi Pop 5 to พันธุ์ผีปอบ '34. Principal characters are still here in Baan Phi Pop 6. The district has gone through some modernisation as an hospital has been built. Ya Yip (หยิบ), the "Phi Pop" ghost, is resting at the hospital and performs a rampage with an axe. A "Phi Pop" (ผีปอบ) is an evil spirit believed to possess a person to eat his intestine while also forcing him to seek and consume raw animal organs and meat at night time. One of the hospital nurse, Kamthong, visits a village lady (Srinuan), who is sick and has the reputation to be a "Phi Pop" ghost (ปอบ) also. The village headman (ผู้ใหญ่บ้าน) wants to marry Srinuan (เราอยู่ได้เพราะว่าความหวัง). Following nuisances due to Ya Yip, the village headman is looking for a master (อาจารย์) to chase her (ไล่ปอบ). A charlatan arrives in the village. At night time Srinuan really becomes a "Phi Pop" ghost and kills some villagers to eat their intestine. As usual in Baan Phi Pop (บ้านผีปอบ) movies, there are continuous pursuits between Ya Yip, the "Phi Pop" ghost, and the villagers. This opus continues to mix gory horror and gags. New and old gags (Women in tight sarong - ผ้าถุง) spurt continuously. New weapons such as boomerang, ladder, flying bike, floating bike, flying ghost using fans as wings and a montgolfier are introduced. Many gags are similar to cartoon gags. There is good imagination from scenarists to find gags. Ya Yip is called ผีบ้า! The village headman refuses to believe that Srinuan is a "Phi Pop" ghost and continues to believe Ya Yip is responsible of the murders. Kamthong's boyfriend, Plung, is worried. Kamthong refuses Plung's request to stop visiting Srinuan as he is worried about a spirit (วิญญาณ) transfer between the two ladies. He decides to enquiry inside Srinuan house. The village headman chases the useless master as he couldn't stop Ya Yip. Plung brings one of the doctor to spy Srinuan at night time. Finally he decides to kidnap Kamthong to protect her. Srinuan tries to stop Plung causing Kamthong to be contaminated (ถูกวิญญาณปอบ) by the "Phi Pop" ghost.

Thai movie ผีแม่ม่าย 2 เต้ยไหลตาย was released in year 1990 and lasts 1h14mn only. Some scenes are probably cut or censored. ผีแม่ม่าย serie includes 4 movies (Part 1, 2, 3, 5). Actors and actresses featured in this movie are Ekapan Banleurit, Tongchai Prasongsanti, Kiet Kijcharouen, ปภัสรา ชุตานุพงษ์ and a few cameo appearances by Metta Roongrat and Apichat Halamjiak. ผีแม่ม่าย 2 movie is a mix of comedy, action, horror, light erotism and a few songs such ฟ้าร้องไห้ sung by Tongchai Prasongsanti. The village is calm now. Young lady Choompu arrives in the village and meets Vina (Ekapan Banleurit). She stays with Tung, the funny katoey. Tongchai Prasongsanti is back and is wearing woman clothes as he is still worried about ghost widow (ผีแม่ม่าย). Tongchai is fond of Choompu. Romantic song ฟ้าร้องไห้ is performed by Tongchai to seduce Choompu. Kiet Kijcharouen arrives in the village and is looking for Choompu. He asks Choompu to go back with him. Four ghost widow ladies are sent to the village to bring men for their queen, who is living in เมืองผีแม่ม่าย. They possess bodies of village ladies (เข้าสิง) and tries to capture men by tiring them in bed. Sad sequence features the Hell guardian ยมบาล, who sentences the Phetburi Road driver to hell (in year 1990, a liquid petroleum gas tanker truck crashed at Phetchaburi Road, causing large explosion. 90 people died). Funny sequences of villagers chased by ghost widow ladies occur. Mina comes back and warns Vina about the ghost widow ladies. Pranee, head of ghost widow ladies, complains to Hell guardia (ท่านพี่), that men are now more wary of ghost widow so it is hard to capture them. A doctor (Apichat Halamjiak) is coming to cure people in the village but he is the first one to get sick! Pranee decides to send all her ghost widow ladies in the village. Choompu is possessed by a ghost widow but Mina intervenes to prevent she kills Vina. Villagers decide to fight (สู้ๆ) against the ghosts. Part of the movie is probably missing as the movie ends up with villagers organising a fireball contest (บั้งไฟ).

Thai movie หลวงตา 3 สีกาข้างวัด was released in year 1991. As it is linked to Buddhist religion, the story is sensible as based on a real story (อดีตพระนิกร-สีกาอร). The movie was even censored and cut a few times. Lor Tok is playing Luang Ta again. Waen (Kiet Kijcharouen) and Biu are playing temple boys (เด็กวัด) roles. Veteran actress Chamaiporn Jaturaput is playing a market woman (แม่ค้า). Luang Ta is always helping and listening to his community. He also faces various problems of daily life with its lies (people asking for money to ordain but claiming later that money disappears...). Oratai's elder sister, Phiya, is a nun (แม่ชี). She quit her home as her father was a drunkard. She ended up working in a brothel. Luang Ta visits a buddhist temple with Biu and Oratai. The monk there is having a huge number of followers and claims having been in paradise and hell already. Speech competition (เทศ) happens between the two monks. The monk (เณร) proposes to Oratai to be his follower (ลูกศิษย์). Oratai accepts. Later on, the monk is looking for opportunities to be alone with Oratai. Biu and Wen always disturb Phiya as Biu is fond of her. Luang Ta uses a funny stratagem to ensure they stop disturbing Phiya (สงบ). The monk gets massage despite still being young. Phiya, worried about her sister Oratai (สีกา), wishes to get her back (ชาวบ้านนินทา). A monk staying alone with woman is incorrect. It tarnishes Buddhism reputation as religion (เรื่องไม่ดีไม่งาม). Phiya, unable to get back her sister, consults Luang Ta. Luang Ta asks help from a senior monk in the hierarchy. Finally Oratai goes back to her sister. Some followers of this monk are upset about Luang Ta and his friends. They wish to kill them. If the monk is defrocked, then they will lose the good life they get through the money coming from donation! (คนชั่ว). They finally get arrested by the police. Oratai becomes a nun (แม่ชี) also. The movie ends up with compassion message as the market woman educates 4 children that are not hers. Director is Permpol Choei-arun famous for his drama and social movies.

"Phi pop spirit" is back! Some people are found dead without intestines. Is Kradeung really back to a normal human being or still possessed by the "Phi Pop" spirit? New characters are introduced as actors Trirak Rakkarndee and Ekapan Banleurit are no longer part of the story. The movie highlights the opposition of villagers cured by local sorcerer (หมอผีคล้าย) and villagers cured by Bangkok doctors (หมอฝรั่ง), who offer free service. The local sorcerer wants to kill Ya Yip (หยิบ), the Phi pop spirit" roaming inside the village. But the Bangkok doctors protect Ya Yip believing the local sorcerer is crazy and bring her back inside the village. There is conflict between the local sorcerer and Bangkok doctors. The local sorcerer wants to keep his influence on the villagers. The daughter of the local sorcerer helps the Bangkokian doctor. Her father has changed his behavior recently being easily angry. The local sorcerer gets issues with his own wife and daughter as he is doing more harm than good to villagers. He is diagnosing a malaria case as a spirit possession (ผีเข้า) that needs to be chased (ผีไล่). Finally the local sorcerer flees from the village after stabbing Ya Yip. He was finally also a "Phi pop spirit"... Recipes are same as the previous movies. Many continuous funny but tiring and repetitives chases happen between Ya Yip "phi pop" and the villagers. Single villagers prefer watching the lady in swimming suit than the lady in sarong. The movie is still targeted for rural audience but with more and more urban life and taste influence. Funny comedian Kiet Kijcharouen (เกียรติ กิจเจริญ) is now here. He also participated to the complete Boonchu (บุญชู) movies serie.

Thep is part of a group of deities (Thewada - เทวดา) that comes to earth. Thep fails to go back to heaven. People in a slum (สลัม) are expelled from their home as a big company wishes to build a hotel. A journalist from CH8 (ข่าว 8) called Aep is showing the truth. Ruffians try to bring troubles but Thep protects Aep. Aep believes he met a crazy guy (เจอคนบ้า). As Thep has nowhere to go, he welcomes him in his home. Aep's sister, Kaew, is blind and makes flowers. Aep is having issues with a colleague, Watee, at the office. Other deities come to pick up Thep but Thep prefers to stay believing he is more useful in human world (มนุษย์). Aep is doing an enquiry on a kid that was kidnapped. He always highlights the opposition between poor and rich society. Aep interviews show real society so they are disturbing to his boss. Aep is worried (กลุ้มใจ) as her boss doesn't value his work. Thep starts to understand society hypocrisy (Good people – คนดี – only pretending, Charitable work – งานกุศล - is not only for those going to temple, do we value people only by their name particule – ทาน ?) Deities can be same as humans. As Thep is not willing to go back yet to heaven so he is helping Aep to do kindness (ช่วยทำความดี). Wattee and his boss (หัวหน้าผู้หญิง) are lovers. Wattee threatens her to nominate him at a higher position. An eye donation (บริจากตา) happens for Kaew. The donor is not compatible but Kaew accepts her fate. Meanwhile Wattee has no scruples. He dumps his girlfriend to pursue high professional hopes. He gets one video tape featuring a drug case but it is stolen by Da, one of the employee as it features her husband. She tries to protect her wedding and child as her husband is playing cards and dealing with drugs. Thep challenges the heaven that goodness should be seen before he heads back. To avoid bringing trouble to Da, the chief editor takes the responsibility of the missing tape. Things get worse as Da tries to get suicide as her husband has fled with her daughter. The deity leader tries to get back Thep but to no avail. Finally Da and her daughter are reunited. Through Kaew and the chief editor's action, Thep can see kindness on earth. Wattee is still jaleous with Thep and Aep. He sends some ruffians to neutralize them. Thep can vanquish them and Wattee is sent to jail as his boss doesn't support him (ตอบแทนความดี!). As Wattee is now in jail, it is time for Thep to go back to heaven. It was originally a Thai TV serie done in 1986 and then adapted to cinema in 1989. Another TV serie remake was done in 1998.

A new lady teacher (ครูคนใหม่) called Sawai (Jintara Sookkapat) is arriving in a remote school (ตำบลเล็กๆ) in northern Thailand. Veteran actor Settha Sirachaya is the school director (ครูใหญ่). Kampaeng (Santisuk Promsiri) doctor is an old friend (เพื่อนที่ดีตลอดไป) also working in the area. Sawai gives strong lessons to pupils not following school rules (มันเกินไป). Strong warnings are given against cigarette and alcohol. Wai puts to herself some strict rules to be a model for pupils. Kampaeng understands it will be almost impossible to have a romantic relationship with Wai as she puts her duty first. Kampaeng gets an award to go studying in Germany but he doesn't want to be far from Wai. He finally leaves convinced by Wai. Many years have passed. Wai is still single. Teacher Wai gets called evil (ใจร้าย) but parents don't dare to tell her as they are all former pupils of teacher Wai. Wai starts to realise what people think about her. Teacher Wai has often back pain recently. She has to go urgently to hospital. Many people around teacher Wai promise to change their behavior and wish Wai to recover fast. They all finally realize that behind her severity, teacher Wai is working hard to build good people. Teacher Wai finally comes back and is welcomed in the village by a huge number of students and parents. This movie highlights dedication of some hardworking teachers going in some remote areas to spread knowledge, Buddhist basis and putting school values even before their private life. Movie ครูไหวใจร้าย was shot in 1989 and includes famous stars Santisuk Promsiri and Jintara Sookkapat. Thai movie หวานมันส์ฉันคือเธอ ตอนที่ยังเหลือ (ภาค 2) was released in year 1988 and lasts 1h49mn. This movie is follow up of part 1 released in year 1987. A few songs are featured in the movie. Nap (Jintara Sookkapat) and Ton (Santisuk Promsiri) are close friends since childhood and are now studying in university. Ton’s father is worried that his son doesn't behave as a 'man' (ผู้ชายเต็มตัว) and check with his teacher (อาจารย์)(Kriengkrai Unhanan). Ton's parents move to Bangkok but Ton stays behind to finish his studies. Ton moves to a room (ห้องพัก). Aunt (Sulaleewan Suwanthat) is the owner and she is fed up to clean sheets as the tenants keep bringing ladies. Ang (Kiet Kijcharouen) is concerned that Ton is gay so he asks another neighbour to check. Nap is upset with Ton as she believes he brings ladies to sleep in his room. Nap has to do Thai military training. So her friends ask her to reconsider if Ton really misbehaves or not. The misunderstanding is clarified but Nap needs to excuse herself after having slapped Ton. The neighbour tricks him again by sending a sexy lady to Ton's room. Nap arrives at same time and misunderstands Ton again. Ton gets slapped again. The sexy lady also steals Ton’s money (ไม่มีเจตนา). This time, Nap doesn't believe Ton (เศร้า). Ton stays home as he has no more money. The neighbour finds a job for them but it is a nightclub performance activity. His father visits him and pushes him to visit prostitutes. Nap's friend, Samon, tries to seduce him. It is exams time. Nap still doesn't forgive Ton. Nap's father complains to the head of school as Ton keeps trying to contact his daughter. Ton explains the whole story to the head of school, apologizes for his behavior and announces quitting the school. Exams shall happen soon (อีกสามวันจะสอบ). Ton is now working as musician in a hill tribe show for foreign tourists. Following plea from Nap about their relation and his future, Ton finally goes back to school to pass his exams as there is no future without diploma.
