A woman is about to deliver her baby. The husband brings his wife on a boat but it is caught in a storm. Their village on the island is wiped away by a tsunami. A boy is born on the boat. The boat is then attacked by a group of pirates (Manop Aussawathep, Prachuap Ruekyamdee, Adinan Singhiran and Taksin Jampol). The baby life is spared and is named Ai Klang. During his youth, Ai Klang is trained to use all weapons. Salai (Wiyada Umarin) likes Ai Klang since her childhood. Ai Klang (Sorapong Chatree) has a reputation of having extraordinary skills as storm child (ลูกพายุ). He is disliked by some pirates (Dam Datsakorn, Somsak Chaisongkram, Rith Luecha and Phaophan Phongnathee) on the island. During a boat attack, the father is injured and the diviner predicts a bad omen for the village (ดาวบอก). Ai Klang and Sarapat, the other son (ลูกพ่อ), keep arguing over Salai. Their pirate (สลัด) village is located on an island. Normally they never keep survivors to avoid their hidden village to be discovered. Sarapat keeps a young lady called Chom (Duangcheewan Komolsen) for his father. She becomes in fact his mistress. Salai's family members are accused of theft. In fact, their crime is to have seen Sarapat and his mistress Chom together. Through a deadly game, two are shot but the father survives as Ai Klang fails, on purpose, to hit him three times. Ai Klang rescues a young lady Malai (Nantana Ngao Krajang) whose boat is wrecked on the island. It causes Salai's jealousy. While bringing her back to her father, Ai Klang is recognized as pirate and needs to flee. Ai Klang learns from Salai's father that he is not the real son of the pirates’ leader. While the father is away, the bad pirates get rid of Salai's father despite Ai Klang's resistance. Ai Klang is attached to a pole during rising tide but Salai helps him before he gets drowned. Sarapat takes over the island while his father is away. When the father is back, he is captured. While Sarapat and his men celebrate their victory, the island volcano wakes up. Ai Klang and a number of men faithful to the father attack the renegade pirates. Fight is fierce but they win. Salai is killed during the fightings. Ai Klang ends up fighting with his father as he killed his real parents twenty years ago. He is unable to kill him as twenty years together have created strong filial bonds. To acknowledge his mistake, the father announces that they all stop to be pirates! But it is too late as finally a tsunami wipes the island. Just before, the father sent Ai Klang and Malai to take refuge on higher grounds. ไอ้คลั่งทะเลโหด was released in year 1979 and features an impressive list of famous 1970s Thai actors. Star wars movie soundtrack is used. The movie was never released officially in VCD or DVD format but a VHS telezin version can be found around. It is supposed to be one of the few Thai movies shot in 70mm format.

Thai movie จ่ากำแพงดิน was released in year 1978. It lasts 1h28mn but the sound is partially inaudible. Dam Datsakorn is playing a role on the main actor side. It is pretty rare as most of the time, he is playing a thug leader. Mariners (ทหารเรือ) including Sombat Methanee (with a moustache and always eating betel), Dam Datsakorn and Adinan Singhiran are back to their home town. University student (Sayan Chantaraviboon) is involved in a brawl with thugs and gets support from mariners and Rong Kaomulkadee. Mariners are going back home. Aranya Namwong is a teacher. She is Sombat’s girlfriend. The head of the ruffians (Kamthorn Suwanpiyasiri) is upset as his thugs were defeated. Among his ruffians, Chanee Yotchai (ชาณีย์ ยอดชัย) can be seen. Another brawl in a pub happens between mariners and thugs. The university student brings trouble to ruffians as he is catching a pickpocket in a market. Ruffians kidnap Aranya and her friends to work as prostitutes. Her mother is stabbed. The mariners storm the ruffians headquarters to rescue the ladies (น้องเอาคืนมา). They then search them into local brothels (อาละวาดบ่อน). The head of ruffians (พ่อเลี้ยง) is upset that his business is disrupted by those three guys. Two groups of ruffians then unify their efforts. The leader of the second group is played by Dom Singmoli (โดม สิงห์โมฬี). They keep kidnapping young girls or buying them from their parents promising fake jobs in Bangkok. They are also involved in drugs trafficking. Meanwhile the mariners unify their efforts with local police also. The university student is killed by ruffians while trying to stop the ruffians transporting the ladies in a train. Sombat and Dam chase the train. Fighting happens on the moving train. The head of the police is played by Wittaya Sukdamrong (วิทยา สุขดำรงค์). Finally following intense fightings, ruffians are neutralised by the three mariners and the police.

Jak Khui (Sombat Methanee) is back to Khorat. He was just released from prison (ติดคุก). He receives recommendations not to come back to Khorat so he disguises in a hippy. Ruffians (Pipop Pupinyo, โดม สิงห์โมฬี, ไสล พูนชัย) follow him as they are unsure it is Jak Khui. He is still looking for his wife Kamsee (Khomapat Attaya) and his son. Undertaker Adinan Singhiran (สัปเหร่อ Sa) helps Jak Khui. Comic Thep Thienchai is part of the team. Jak Khui has to hide in a coffin to escape the ruffians. Yan (Dam Datsakorn), mafia leader (เจ้าพ่อ) in Khorat, wishes to get rid of Jak Khui. Steve (Rith Luecha), hitman (มือดี) from Saraburi, is hired. It was the first movie for Rith Luecha. A Yan's ruffian, former friend with Jak Khui, warns him. Steve and ruffians try to surprise them, but they get pushed back in a cemetery. Yan and his ruffians then storm Uncle Kiet's Thai boxing centre as they believe Jak Khui, former Thai boxer, is hiding there. Kiet's daughter (Duangcheewan Komolsen) and the Thai boxers push them back also (นักเลง vs นักมวย). Some protesters block a factory sawmill manager. Gnot (Kanchit Kwanpracha), as policeman head, lets them do. Hin (Manop Aussawathep) tries to interpose but he is outnumbered. Khaemkaen (Aranya Namwong) asks the protesters to stop. Protesters are pushed by Yan and protected by policeman Gnot. Fighting erupts between Yan and Hin, the new factory manager. Khaemkaen, Yan's fiancee, has to stop them (ต่อยเหมือนเด็กวัด). Sayan Chantaraviboon enters Yan's home to defy him. Appreciating Sayan’s boldness, Yan hires him. Jak Khui finally meets his son Simon, who is now a Buddhist novice. Jak Khui stayed five years in prison. Simon has no news about his mother. Sa brings Jak Khui to Kamsee, who is now a crazy woman. His son asks him to stop revenge, but he cannot do it. Kamsee is shot later by Steve. Yan is behind his demise and family misfortune. Jak Khui wishes to revenge (ล้างแค้น). The Thai boxing team is willing to join him. Jak Khui visits Gnot, the corrupt policeman (ตำรวจเลวๆ), but he is outnumbered and taken over to Yan's house. Yan is willing to get rid of Jak Khui as he opposed to him before when he was rising as Khorat mafia leader. They put him in a coffin and plan to throw him from a cliff. Hopefully Sayan Chantaraviboon helps him and they put the warden instead. Jak Khui then visits Khaemkaen to explain to her Yan's bad accomplishments. Hin and his men take back the wood stolen from forests by Yan's ruffians. It makes Yan to be very upset. To their surprise, during Khaemkaen's birthday, ruffians discover that Jak Khui is still alive! Seeing that Thai police starts to have proofs against him, Yan decides to flee. Khaemkaen is kidnapped by Yan. Jak Khui and his team storm the place where Yan and his ruffians are hiding. Jak Khui takes revenge over Yan. Hin and Sayan are finally undercover policemen. Romance can happen between Jak Khui and Khaemkaen.

Hin (Sombat Methanee) is a monk. One day he receives a letter from his younger niece announcing that his parents have been killed by ruffians, their house burnt and cattle stolen. Hin finally disrobes (ศึก). After so many years as monk, only a few people recognize him, i.e. Lung Kiaw (Sukon Koewliam) and his former teacher (Adinan Singhiran). Sombat Methanee shaved his head for this movie. Hin still behaves like a monk, speaks like a monk (โยม), carry his umbrella and stay calm but sometimes it is too much to endure and ruffians get smashed! Subdistrict headman Loi (Sawin Sawangrat) is now living on the land belonging to Hin's relatives. He is always protected by a bunch of ruffians including Pipop Pupinyo. Fon (Piyamas Monayakol) is the daughter of subdistrict headman Loi. Lom (Phairoj Jaising), Hin’s former classmate, is the son of subdistrict headman Loi. Phi Saen (Kanchit Kwanpracha) takes care of Neung and Sai, Hin's nephews. Ang (Lak Apichat) always follows Hin to help him. Lom’s girlfriend is called Chada (Wiyada Umarin) and is the daughter of Pho Lieng. Hin just wants to take care of his nephews and not bring trouble regarding the land (ผมมาดี). A new house is built and vegetables are planted. Hin wears colorful shirts (สีแปลกๆ). On the way to sell the corn, Hin's truck is stolen and Hin is beaten. Dam Datsakorn and Rith Luecha are the ones behind. They are Pho Lieng’s faithful lieutenants! As Hin is at hospital, Rith kidnaps Sai. Ruffians fail to kill Hin at the hospital so he is aware through Neung and Fon. Pho Lieng (Kecha Plianvithee), the big boss, wishes to marry Fon but Loi knows his daughter will never accept. Seua Tim (Manop Aussawathep) is seen with Pho Lieng but keeps his independence. Hin finds Sai but it is too late as she has been raped and killed. Hin has to forget his previous Buddhist vows (เรื่องคนชั่ว) to take revenge. Hin reuses the chain that was used to kill Sai in order to hit the ruffians. Fierceful fights happen between Hin and Rith / Dam in an underground casino. Despite Hin winning, Pho Lieng orders the ruffians to kill Hin but Seua Tim forbids as guns are not allowed in his casino. Hin kidnaps Fon to bring trouble to Kamnan Loi. Pho lieng orders to kill Subdistrict headman Loi as this latter refuses to enter in a bigger scale of corruption (แบ่งกันกินแบ่งกันใช่). Lom and Fon believes the murderer is Hin. Finally Seua Tim explains the truth to them. Justice happens and all the ruffians are killed. Hin leaves as a lonely cowboy. Movie Maha Hin (มหาหิน) was released in year 1978 and directed by famous action movies director Kom Akadej (เจ้าพ่อหนังบู๊เมืองไทย). This movie really features a big bunches of major actors during decade 1970s. Sombat Methanee got 1M baht to cut his hair and be bald as he couldn't play other movies during many months.

Tai is aware Kan is there. She has important information to share about Thailand security. After doing bad things, she wants to do good things for the nation. Chased by the police, her family is now involved in weapons traffic instead of jewelry traffic. The lady boss (Runglawan Sripatimakul) appreciates Tai and gives her more responsibilities. A new mission is to kill policeman Kan, who is becoming a threat for them... Ruffian Dom (โดม สิงห์โมฬี) said he can manage by himself. Tai helps Kan against Dom. Kan asks Tai to surrender and he will wait for her, but she refuses. Kan gets finally captured by ruffians. Lak and her father release police inspector Kan and open the gates to let police enter. Meanwhile Tai still pretends to be loyal to her boss but the lady boss sees that Tai betrays them. Shootings occur. The lady boss shoots Lak and his father Prachuap. Tai shoots the lady boss but it is too late as Lak and her father are dead. Kan arrests Tai. Finally, Tai is released as she is the lost daughter of the rich people she robbed before!

พยัคฆ์พันลาย or Tiger Fighting / MAGNUM KILLERS is a 1973 Thai movie. Pan (Sombat Methanee) has a fight in an illegal casino as his brother was cheated of 500 usd. The casino owner, MengYu, offers him a deal, i.e. accept to go to prison for 10 000 USD in order to contact one of his teammates jailed for life. Only this inmate knows where Wang Piu, nicknamed as King Cobra, is. Veteran actor Lor Tok is playing the jail keeper. The inmate is killed just after telling to Pan that King Cobra is located in Pu Geng area and after giving a letter of introduction. Pan teams up with Lor Tok. They are both threatened by ruffians also looking for King Cobra. Pan asks his friend Chumporn to look after his home and his brother while he is away looking for King Cobra. Around Pu Geng area, Pan meets the local owner (Adinan Singhiran) of a mine. He is hired as a tough man after showing up his skills to knock out four guys and even helps the mine owner's daughter who was kidnapped. Meanwhile Pan's brother is kidnapped by a team of ruffians led by a fierce young lady called KenYouSee (Wassana Chalakorn). To get his brother back, Pan needs to bring Wang Piu to the young lady. She has a revenge to take as Wang Piu caused her parents to die 10 years ago. Pan locates the King Cobra or Wang Piu thanks to the letter of introduction but the young lady KenYouSee is following just behind them. Pan finally meets a noble man looking for his lost princess daughter. Meanwhile KenYouSee captures King Cobra and tortures him as revenge. MengYu, the casino owner, KenYouSee and other thugs were all looking for King Cobra. MengYu double crosses Pan. The princess is in fact Peng, KenYouSee's sister. Everybody is looking for her jewels box as it includes a list of political insurgents. The list is for sale. Finally the princess is kidnapped by MengYu while storming KenYouSee's camp to try getting King Cobra. Through a daring operation, Pan and his friends release the princess. During the movie shooting, long trail boats run over each other and actress Petchara Chaowarat falls in the river. MengYu's team and the thugs willing to buy the list kill each other believing the other party breaks the deal. It is a full packed action movie. Unfortunately the Thai movie is cut into an international version lasting only 1h33mm instead of two hours so those cuts make the movie directing and scenario sometimes weird. It is a IFD movie and luckily it is not merged with Ninja sequences as the original Thai movie is lost in Thailand. During year 1976, this movie was famous as famous veteran actress Petchara Chaowarat falls in the water following a dangerous action scene between two long trail boats. It appears on all Thai newspapers and those newspapers are even featured on the movie poster! The other event was related to sexy actress (ดาวยั่วเซ็กซี) Wassana Chalakorn who dares playing naked in a shower scene. The IFD movie has been redubbed in Thai language in Thailand recently.

He sings romantic song for her. Prai and his friends get beaten by ruffians (including Pan Borapet) because they talked to the daughters of ruffians’ leader Pongdin. Pongdin has a wedding plan for his daughter even she doesn't know or love her future husband. Kwan Dao doesn't want to marry a ruffian (นักเลง). Prai with Rung Phet’s help are looking for Cherm and Chiaw. While paying respect to an old pagoda, Prai and his friends visit a small wooden house. They are attacked by Borapet and his ruffians. Ruffians are pushed back. They discover that the man meditating in the house is uncle Cherm! Cherm brings them to meet former village leader Chiaw’s (Rujira Isarangkul), who is Prai’s grandfather! He is now subdistrict headman (กำนัน). Prai is still looking for his father. He doesn't know if his father is still alive or not. Thai boxing matches are organised in the village for the annual festival. It starts with a dwarf match. Next match features Adinan versus Prai. Kwan Dao needs to give the winning reward. Prai defeats Pongdin’s champion. It ends up by a lady match. Pongdin accepts them as 'children'. Romance songs occur between Prai and Kwan Dao, male singer (รุ่งเพชร แหลมสิงห์) and female singer (กิ่งดาว จันทร์สวัสดิ์). Face to face occurs between Pongdin, uncle Cherm and Prai. Prai is still looking who killed his father. Both of them are beaten and captured by Pongdin's ruffians. Friends ask for subdistrict headman Chiaw's help. Kwan Dao tries to release Prai and succeeds. Prai knows Pongdon killed his father so he needs to take revenge. Prai captures Pongdin and wishes to torture him on a pyre like he tortured his father (รับกรรม). They finally get reunited thanks to Sompong Phonmitr. This movie features sequence shot in famous Daimaru former shopping mall. Prachuap has a leg injury and is visited by twin ladies (real singers อารยา ปาริชาติ ฉายาลักษณ์). Finally the parents let Jub Jaeng go with Sombat. Khomapat and her mum are upset about the gifts bought by Sombat to Jub Jaeng. Sombat tries to end the dispute with Khomapat but it ends up badly. While walking on the beach, he gets stabbed by ruffians. Khomapat gets also aggressed by ruffians on the beach. Khomapat tries to hit Jub Jaeng again but she fights back and finally decides to quit this crazy house. Prachuap and Sombat finally understand Khomapat’s bad games. Sombat rushes after Jub Jaeng and they finally reconcile.

Yong meets Nam Pheung (Petchara Chaowarat) and Sarai (มิสฮันหวา), daughters of subdistrict headman (กำนัน) Lor Tok. Yong is interested in Sarai but Nam Pheung doesn't trust him. Sompong Phonmitr, subdistrict headman's domestic helper, also dislikes Yong. Nam Pat, subdistrict headman's wife, is aggressed while meeting her lover Phi Bun, who is killed. Subdistrict headman Lor Tok is aware his wife was having a lover but forgives her. A new chief district officer (นายอำเภอคนใหม่) called Tamanoon (Adul Dulyarat) visits subdistrict headman's house. He is widowed with three kids. Yong and Sarai love each other but Nam Pheung (เด็กบ้า) tries to break their relationship and wishes to push Sarai toward the new chief district officer by using Prachuap to write false letters. Aunt Chan (Somjit Sapsamruey) has debts towards the subdistrict headman so Yong, being her nephew, repays the debt by working in their house. Yong is a music teacher. Yong helps Tamanoon aggressed by ruffians. Tamanoon asks for Sarai's hand so Yong decides to flee with Sarai. Mae Pat wishes to join them to be Sarai's domestic helper. Nam Pheung hears them and informs Tamanoon. During a celebration organised by the subdistrict headman, they wish to flee but Nam Pheung brings mess again and foils their plan. So finally Yong ends up kidnapping Nam Pheung. Upset, Yong forces Nam Pheung. But then Yong regrets his act and takes good care of her as she is sick. Choomporn Theppitak is his close friend. At nighttime Nam Pheung tries to flee and is aggressed by ruffians. Yong helps on time but is seriously beaten. Nam Pheung understands he is a nice guy. Yong accepts to bring back Nam Pheung to his father and to face whatever her father, a subdistrict headman, will do to him. Probably shoot him dead! Tamanoon wishes to help and prepares a plan in secret. While the father is unable to decide who to punish, his daughter or Yong, Adinan Singhiran attacks the father per Tamanoon’s plan. Yong, unware of the plan, protects the subdistrict headman and gets slightly injured. The subdistrict headman seeing that Yong is brave and good man forgives to him and allows the wedding. Yong and Nam Pheung can marry happily. The DVD picture is really beautiful. Toh Phanmitr (คุณโต๊ะพันธมิตร) has done a great job by restoring this movie and releasing it.

Shootings happen during a concert. The kidnapping foils as Thai police shoot the ruffians. Mitr is now aware that Wan Pen helped him as she was worried and concerned. Seua Pon kidnaps Wan Pen and uses her as a bait to shoot Mitr. Seua Pon doesn't shoot after hearing her name. Seua Pon and Mitr have a final duel. Knowing that Mitr is injured at the hand, he has no chance against Seua Pon so Wan Pen shoots him with a rifle. Realising she killed her own father, Wan Pen feels bad and flees. Kwan acknowledges he was the one to shoot Seua Pon as both him and Wan Pen shot at same time. Mitr doesn't arrest Kwan as Seua Pon was a bad man. The movie ends up with a romance between Mitr and Wan Pen.

Saying goodbye to the old man, he tells her to dig for an old jar and take the bracelet inside. If somebody sees this bracelet, she shall answer she is ขวัญหล้า! If this somebody has a red taint, Pan Kaew shall bring him to help the old man. In Bangkok, Pan Kaew meets Bua Riaw (Orasa). Understanding they have been sold, they try to flee. This Thai spy movie starts very similary to “Impossible Mission” TV serie with tapes giving instructions. Jiep (Adul Dulyarat), expert in explosives, finds Saen (Surasit Sattayawong) in Ayuthaya. They need to find Nin (Mitr Chaibancha) in Bangkok, handsome guy and always butterflying with ladies. They have to do a secret mission related to Thailand and to complete within one month. Target is to neutralise a dangerous secret organisation (เวียดนามเหนือ). They need to find a fourth teammate (number 46) in Udon Thani. Guerrilla group soldiers (ทหารป้า) are terrorising villagers by burning their houses and even killing them. Kaneung Ha (Sopha Sataporn) is the group leader. Saree (Metta Roongrat) has been forcefully enrolled. When her parents are killed, she finally deserts. The three men finds Saree burying her parents. She accepts to join them in order to show where the guerilla is hiding. They spend one night in a villager house. This one informs the guerilla of the group presence. They flee on time but Saen doesn't trust Saree anymore and tries to kill her (ทรยศ). Kaneung Ha recruits strong men in villages by luring them with beautiful ladies (Kaenjai Meenakanit). Nin and his two friends succeed to be recruited. Kaneung Ha believes the three men are spies from government (ศัตรู) so they get tortured. Finally Kaneung Ha has pity on them. Meanwhile police is sending officers disguised in clowns (Prachuap Ruekyamdee). Saree offers her help too (ร่วมมือ). The three men receive orders to kill the three policemen and Saree in order to prove their obedience to the organisation. Two guards shall oversee the mission. The three men capture the three policemen following a tacit agreement. Following their first mission success, the big boss sends them to Udon to make airport details recording. Yot is jealous of Nin as he knows Kaneung Ha starts to love him. The big boss is trusting now the three men and shows them the missiles stored in the base. Nin declares his love to Kaneung Ha. Saree helps the three policemen to flee. Nin defeats Yot in one to one fight. Police is back with many men. Meanwhile Jiep tries to neutralize the missiles. Nin brings Kaneung Ha with him before the explosion. Police faces strong opposition before reaching the base. Kaneung Ha is the real number 46 they were looking for. She helps Nin to fight the traitors. Finally the missiles are destroyed and the ruffians are all captured. The movie has still colorful and good quality image. It is a 2h27mn movie and the VCD is almost full. In those 1960s movies, no direct kisses are shown. Mitr kisses Sopha but still prudery happens. Like many 1960s action movies, ทรชนเดนตาย film (1969) has a nationalist trend.

To change her mind, she goes wandering around the waterfall. Wit and Pikun (พิกุล - อุไรวรรณ จันทร์ทิพย์), a young lady loving Kaew, put in place a plan to get rid of Sarika. While Sarika is walking near the waterfall, an acolyte working for Wit pushes her. She falls and dies. Everybody thinks it is a suicide as Sarika was depressed after learning sad news about Kaew. While the funeral ceremony is happening, Kaew and Pai are coming back from Vietnam. Kaew meets a friend coming back from the ceremony. The friend is about to say that Sarika has died but her ghost appears, and the friend doesn’t dare to say anything to Kaew. Sarika behaves as if she was still alive. She brings Kaew to her parents’ house and pretends there is a relative’s funeral ceremony. Everybody is surprised as they thought Kaew died in Vietnam. Nobody dares to tell the truth to Kaew. Kaew goes back home and sleeps. Sarika and his baby are there. In the morning Kaew doesn’t see Sarika and his baby so he visits Ranjuan, who disclosed the truth to Kaew. The remaining film is ending there. The remaining part of the story can be found in old Thai cinema magazines. When Pikun knows that Kaew is back, she asks a shaman to make a love philter to seduce Kaew. She plans to kill him and to get his heritage. Ranjuan helps Kae. Gradually love merges between Kaew and Rajuan. It makes Sarika to be very upset (ออกอาละวาด) as she is afraid to lose Kaew. Villagers use a shaman to calm down Sarika but the sham has pity for Sarika. The shaman asks Kaew and Rajuan to talk to Sarika so that she can understand. Sarika finally understands and requests that a spirit house be built near the waterfall where she died so that there is proof of her love towards Kaew.

Patheut (Mitr Chaibancha) is the son of village leader Thong. He is just back after many years away from his village. He is mistaken as a robber by Chat (Anucha Ratanaman), local subdistrict headman, and his sister Baanyen. A local influential man (พ่อกำนัน), Meun Phan, terrorizes the population (เขามีอิทธิพล) with his thugs. Thong has also a daughter called Choompu. Cheung, son of Meun Phan, wishes to marry Choompu but she refuses. Rampha (Petchara) is the daughter of Meun Phan. Boonnga (Kaenjai Meenakanit) is the young wife of Meun Phan. Rampha wishes her father to stop acting this way but he rejects her requests. She asks help from Boonnga but without success. Patheut has arguments in a cafe with thugs but a young man called Chai (Choomporn Theppitak) gives him a hand. Rampha asks to stop the fighting so Patheut meets her for the first time. Ruffians put a bomb in Chat's car. Luckily Chat and Patheut escape to death as a thug robs their car and dies in the explosion. Patheut finally understands that Rampha has a good personality (ดีมาก) and is not same as her father. Rampha promises to help Patheut but Patheut needs to promise not to harm her father. Meun Phan suspects Boonnga to have a hidden lover. Ruffians kidnapp Choompu despite Chat's resistance. Thanks to Patheut and Chai, she is released. Choompu and Baanyen find the thugs' hidden refuge but get captured again. Ruffian leader Meun Phan orders to kill Chat and Thong (ปล้นบ้าน). Boonnga tells to Chai where the secret centre is. Chat and Chai release them again. Boonnga is shot by a thug. Police is surrounding the camp. Meun Phan is killed as he understands, thanks to Rampha, that he is taken the wrong path betraying his own country but it is too late to change side and to warn the police. Chai is in fact part of the border police (ตำรวจชายแดน). Following fierce fighting, ruffians are all killed or captured. Patheut is in fact the new district-chief officer (นายอำเภอคนใหม่). This movie is part of nationalist trend movies during decade 1960s with highlights on protecting Thai soil against potential invaders. The movie “จอมคน” was shot in Trat area and was released in year 1969. It lasts 1h47mn. It is still a colorful movie but it is incomplete as some parts are missing.

Mitr Chaibancha, Adul Dulyarat, Boo Wibunnan are watching ladies Petchara Chaowarat, Wassana Chalakorn, Metta Roongrat launching krathongs in the river during Loy Krathong festival. A speed boat makes Petchara fall in the water. Mitr rescues her. The speed boat is driven by Petchara's brother. As he dislikes his sister meeting the three young men, fighting happens. The father Tat Ekathat interposes himself but he doesn't like Mitr either. The father forbids them to meet. The movie is named Loy Krathong but the movie is about Loy Krathong festival only at the beginning of the movie when both Mitr and Petchara initially met. The movie is then more an action movie. Mitr and Petchara try to help a young kid tentatively treated by a tribe shaman (Lor Tok). Other villagers interpose as they are not used to western medicine. At nighttime one of the villagers (Pipop Pupinyo) brings the kid for injection. Finally Mitr sympathizes with the shaman and ends up taking care of several children! Metta is aggressed by three ruffians and gets help from Mitr and also a group of children (including famous child actress Tukata Jindanuch). Those children are mischievous. Disappointed not to get Mitr's love, Metta ends up to be drunk. Metta does use a trick on Petchara in order for Mitr to be disappointed by her. Metta prevents her to see Mitr. Mitr and Lor Tok have arguments with policemen and end up in jail. Prachuap Ruekyamdee releases them by using violence and threatening policemen. Mitr injures by the accident a policeman. Arguments are happening between tribe kids and Thai local kids. Petchara is their teacher. Adul Dulyarat, a policeman officer, tries to seduce Petchara. The father Tat Ekathat threatens his daughter of closing the school. Tat Ekathat is aggressed by thieves on a mountain road. Luckily Mitr, Prachuap, Lor Tok are around and chase away the thieves. The three friends realise that Boo Wibunnan is trafficking drug. Behind this traffic, there is involvement of Tat Ekathat and ruffians leader. Fist fighting erupts involving Adinan also. Tat Ekathat stops everybody. It is discovered that the candles on the krathong contain explosives. It looks like Boo Wibunnan and Lor Tok die in an explosion. Mitr and Prachuap are arrested by Adul and Sukon Koewliam, a policeman. They get transfered under military authority, who releases them. Metta is captured with ruffians. Two policemen gets captured also. Meanwhile Mitr follows up Adinan but gets injured by Ekathat's fellow worker. Mitr hides in the school and is treated by Petchara. Adul discovers Mitr in Petchara's room. Things get worse as Petchara is kidnapped and Mitr and Adul are locked in a room with Prachuap. They succeed to flee. Meanwhile Petchara is crucified by hill tribe villagers. Mitr fails to help her and is also crucified. Meanwhile Prachuap follows the ruffians leader and tries to prevent Adinan to rape Wassana Chalakorn. Adul with a bunch of policemen try to release Mitr and Petchara. Finally Prachuap and Wassana Chalakorn flee and release all the hill tribes children. Hill tribes villagers change side seeing their children now released. Ruffians blaze the village. A four minutes trailer is still available and showing some final scenes not present in the 2h08mn left to be seen. A final fight happens between Mitr and the ruffians leader.

A young lady called Wannee (Petchara Chaowarat) gets suicide in Passakorn's home and this latter (Mitr Chaibancha) gets accused of murder (ผู้ตาย). Adirek (Adul Dulyarat), lawyer, explains the whole story to the police inspector (Choomporn Theppitak). Oi (Metta Roongrat) and her sister Wannee were students. Wannee failed her exams despite being a good student as she didn't want to bring extra financial burden to her parents as they have already the younger sister's studies to support. Wannee found a job in a Bangkok dancing club directed by sexy directress Ratree (Chadaporn Wachirapranee). Pon (Prachuap Ruekyamdee) and Passakorn often party. Wannee met Passakorn in the dancing club. He liked her immediately (ผู้หวังดี). Passakorn is the son of a rich company owner but he is not really hard worker, spending a lot of money and going in clubs. Passakorn asked a few days to Wannee before talking to parents about their relationship. Wannee still had doubts on Passakorn's real feelings. Wannee got pregnant but Passakorn still didn't inform his parents about their relationship (ไม่ชื่อแล้ว, คนโกหก). When talking to his father, this latter shown him a photo of Adirek and Wannee together. He believed Wannee had betrayed him (ทรยศ). He went for London leaving Wannee puzzled and believing Passakorn refused to take his responsibility (ใจชั่ว). Passakorn stopped his friendship with Adirek also. Knowing that Wannee was pregnant and her difficult situation, Adirek proposed his help. Wannee and her mother went on countryside to deliver the baby quietly. Meanwhile Oi continued her studies and got closer to Adirek. As his father died in an accident, Passakorn had to flight back from London. Passakorn still couldn't forget Wannee and was drinking heavily every day. Oi got highest grade in her school and got a tuition for Japan offered to the school by Passakorn! Passakorn started a close friendship with Oi causing serious despair to Adirek and Wannee. Wannee's child was a born dead baby. Passakorn was still upset with Wannee believing she betrayed him (นางกากี. คนทรยศ). Passakorn had to marry with Urai following heritage arrangements. Wannee's father was upset with her (ลูกช่ัว) and only Oi was seen as a good girl. Wannee went to meet Passakorn to ask him stopping meeting her young sister and to move away. He refused. Being denigrated by her father and sister, Wannee organized Oi's kidnapping and got suicide in Passakorn's home so that he could get accused. Pon finally claims that he is the one who took the picture with Adirek and Wannee but he didn't think it will degenerate like this. Passakorn and Adirek resume friendship. Adirek and Pon look for a letter proving that Wannee died through suicide and not murdered by Passakorn. Uncle Wong (Adinan Singhiran) refuses to give it as he believes Passakorn is responsible of Wannee's death. During the trial, Passakorn, knowing he was unfair to Wannee, agrees he killed her. His friends succeed to get the letter and can show Passakorn innocence. Released and back home, Passakorn gets reunited with Wannee by using the same knife inhibited with poison to quit this world. This 1968 movie is 2h24mn long and still features a very colorful image. it is one of the best role of Mitr Chaibancha playing a bad guy. The real movie is longer as a trailer of 3mn48 is also available. It includes sequences in the jail that are not present in the VCD.

The movie was dubbed by uncle Manat and aunt Soo. Movie director is Neramit. Kram (Chao Klaewklong) has arguments with Pramin Jarujareet as he refuses to be a robber anymore. He even gives back stolen goods to a company. It makes Pramin Jarujareet upset and they storm Chao Klaewklong's house. Only his wife Somjit Sapsamruey is here with her two twin sons. Ruffians kidnap one of the two sons. The child is renamed Klao and raised by Adinan Singhiran. As an adult, Klao is played by Mitr Chaibancha. Ming (Sompol Kongsuwan) doesn't trust Klao. While training Thai boxing, Klao hears Ming saying that he is not the son of Pramin Jarujareet. Klao wishes to know who his parents are. Klao was raised as a robber, but he still has a good heart. Singer Lady Metta Roongrat invites him to her bar. Somjit Sapsamruey is sick and sad that Chao couldn't find her missing son for 20 years. Chao hires lawyer Tawan Siriwat to find his missing son. Somjit Sapsamruey dies before seeing her son again. Klao and his father Pramin Jarujareet take part in a truck robbery, but other ruffians led by Phan Kam double them. They use Lor Tok as a taxi driver. Metta is harassed at the exit of a nightclub, but Klao is helping her. Choomporn Theppitak is present also and knocks Klao. The head of ruffians Phan Kam believes Pramin was trying to double him, so cuts his hand to teach him a lesson. Pramin now uses a hook instead of his hand. The second son, Naprapong, is back from studying overseas and is captured by ruffians with the lawyer Tawan. The son is coming back for his father Kram's heritage. He shall also meet his fiancée Morakot. Phan Kam prepares a plan with a fake Morakot played by Preeya Roongrueng, but it fails. Klao finally meets the real Morakot (Petchara Chaowarat). Ruffians are confused as they thought they captured Klao but it is Naprapong. Meanwhile Klao plays Naprapong and falls in love with Morakot. Ruffians enter the house to clarify their confusion but shooting occurs. One ruffian is killed. Police arrive and the officer remembers Klao's face, but Klao claims it is a misunderstanding as he is Naprapong! Domestic helper Sisala Thongtara prevents Naprapong to be too close to Morakot as wedding has not happened yet. The lawyer Tawan wishes to check the contents of the safe, but Klao claims it is better to wait for the right day. Lor Tok requests money from Klao as Klao’s father, Pramin, is running out of cash. Klao tries to take money at nighttime from the safe, but Morakot prevents him. Klao discloses the truth to Morakot as he loves her sincerely. The remaining film ends up here.

Suriyan (Ruj Ronnapop) is a policeman. Lin (น่ารัก) listens to Reung and spies his room (แอบฟังอยู่), but she gets discovered by him. She wants to buy the map also. Meanwhile Cheng discovers that sympathetic ink has been used for the map he just bought! Reung shall meet Lin in a nightclub located in Kowloon. She is singing there. Two songs are featured (ปากของคุณน่าจูบจังเลย). Reung invites Lin to Bangkok. Reung gets aggressed by Cheng and his ruffians. Luckily he gets help from Thai policeman Suriyan. Pusit helps him to get away. Ruffians try to get back the drugs worth 100M bath (ฝิ่น). Tenglin suspects the drugs to be hidden in Vichien's tomb, but he doesn't inform other ruffians. Pong (สิงห์ มิลินทราศรัย) and Sawin Sawangrat follow him. Lin is going to Songkla and shall meet Reung there. Thai Police are on the way to Songkla also. Suda (Orasa Isarangkul) pretends to be a car failure to meet Reung. Meanwhile Lin is poisoned in the train by Tenglin, her father's former best friend. She is saved by Pusit. Pong, once knowing where opium is hidden, then kills Tenglin. The opium is hidden under Vichien's grave. Meanwhile ruffians led by Sompol Kongsuwan have a misunderstanding with ruffians led by Cheng. Overcoming danger and traps, Reung and Pusit succeed to enter under the grave and release Lin. Ruffians flee by submarine but it is sunk by Thai army rapid boats. Reung and Lin get married.

Seven convicts (ผู้ต้องหา) are inside a van. Their van has a crash so they can successfully escape. They have all different characters, i. e. Dam Prasakorn (ดามพ์ ดัสกร) a car robber, Tong Bai (ทองใบ) a former traditional folk singer (พระเอกลิเก), Han Meuang Tong (หาญ เมืองทอง), Ai Meut (มืด ธรณี), Khom (คม) a tireless card player, Boonmee (บุญมี) a gunman (มือปืน), Phayak (พยัคฆ์). Police is chasing them so some of them are stealing motorbike, car or horse to flee away. Han Meuang Tong, son of a village headman (กำนันเหิน), is having issues with local mafia leader Saen (พ่อเลี้ยงแสน). Saen accuses Han Meuang to have killed his younger brother ten years ago. He wishes to take revenge and sends ruffians to kill him in his hotel. Paeng - 1960 cliche of small virtue lady featured with a cigarette - is supposed to seduce Han Meuang while Pol shall shoot him. It fails and Pol is captured by police thanks to Han Meuang and Thong Bai. Han Meuang's father is unhappy with his son (เสือร้าย) and wishes to kill him as he is now a convict (โจร). Soi (สร้อย), daughter of Saen, helps to hide Khom in her room and asks her father to recruit him. Sia (เสี่ยมังกร), another local mafia leader involved in illegal sawmills, wishes Han Meuang to join him but Saen's ruffians injure Han Meuang following a trap. Saen’s ruffians terrorize the villagers to find where Han Meuang is hiding. His sister is even kidnapped. Han Meuang needs to fight back (สู้). A mysterious masked leader (นายอนันต์) reunited the seven fugitives (7 พระกาฬ) together and also all Saen / Sia ruffians. He needs them for a secret mission. They need to get a cargo of weapons to be sold illegally. But police is aware and tries to catch them. There is a police spy within the seven guys (มีหนอนบนไส้). A police inspector is captured to find who the spy is. It is Dam Prasakorn (กรมสืบราชการ). The police inspector (สารวัตร) finally succeeds to flee and it is discovered that three of the former fugitives are working for the police. Han Meuang, wishing to help Thailand, helps to release them. Traitors to Thailand (ทรยศขายชาติ) shall be stopped. Many fights and shootings are happening between the four men and the traitors. Police intervenes also. Ruffians are all killed and their leader's helicopter is shot down by Han Meuang. Finally Han Meuang is an undercover soldier (กองทัพ) so he reconciles with his father. There is moralist ending as Tong Bai also surrenders to police and gives back the money left in a suitcase by the ruffians. This movie includes a mix of action and comedy. it features a beautifully restored colorful picture and lasts 2h21mn. It reminds of 1954 “Seven Samurai” Japanese movie or 1960 “The Magnificent Seven” American movie. Another Thai movie named “7 พระกาฬ” was released in 1983.

One day as the drunkard father asks for money, he becomes violent again and Somjit has to protect herself with scissors. Through an accident, the father receives a fatal injury. Somjit ends up in jail. Mitr, Sompong and Lor Tok leave and look for job to find money to pay for Somjit’s bail. Mitr is recruited as Thai boxer. A first match versus Adinan Singhiran happens. Petchara Chaowarat and Dokdin Kanyaman are part of spectators. Mitr finally wins the match despite being told to lose it as he needs money to help his mother. As the match maker refuses to pay, it ends up in another fighting. Preuhat Boonlong decides to hire the three men to working in an outdoor mine. They got troubles with two men in the mine. Fed up the three friends wish to quit the job but Preuhat Boonlong convinces them to stay. The mine is attacked. Mitr pushes back the aggressors but is injured so getting the sympathy from Petchara. The mother is finally released from prison. Kingdao recruits her as domestic helper. Her boyfriend is Choomporn. Finally the mother is also reunited with Mitr. Another attack happens on the mine and Mitr is accused of murder. It ends up to trial. Scolded by his mother, Chana finally gives information that Mitr is not guilty. Ruffians wishing to take revenge on Chana and try to shoot him. The mother interposes herself and gets shot. Mitr and his brothers catch the ruffians. Movie ends up with everybody around the mother's bed at hospital. 34 stars are announced on the movie poster!

Yen (Boosara Narumit) is being raised since childhood by a stepfather but was never officially adopted. Bai (Mitr Chaibancha) is a dumb and a bit retarded adult (เด็กวัด) accompanying the monk during morning alms. Kitty (Adul Dulyarat) is the real son. Adinan Singhiran is helping for everything in Thorasok domain. The father is sick. Urai (Namgneun Boonnak) is pregnant with Kitty. Usa (Marasri Bangchang) is Urai's mother. Bai is named as ผีทะเล. Kitty is always upset with Yen. The father finally dies and the testament is opened. It is a shock for the family to learn that no money is given to Kitty if he doesn't marry Yen and have a child with her! The mother and Urai are upset. The mother prepares the wedding of Yen and Kitty to follow the testament. But it is a forged plan. They drunk Bai so that Bai enters in Yen's bedroom at nighttime. Yen becomes pregnant. Kitty goes to live with Urai in Bangkok. A child is born from Yen. The mother names it as Ying Yong and takes it to Bangkok to raise it. Meanwhile on countryside, some ruffians shot a couple and a baby is left behind. Yen decides to adopt and raise the baby. Many years have passed. Kittikorn, son of Urai and Kitty, tries to seduce Dao (Sopha Sataporn), Yong Yot’s daughter. Ying Yong (also played by Mitr Chaibancha) is younger brother (น้อง) of Kittikorn. Kittikorn is insolent (ทะลึ่ง) and lazy. The daughter of Yen, called Srai Gnam (รักชนก จินดาวรรณ), is now a doctor. The man who killed the two parents many years ago is now released from jail. His son is Thep (Choomporn Theppitak). He spent 20 years in jail. He wishes to get revenge over Yong Yot who sent him to jail. Dao sees that Srai Gnam is wearing same pendant as her. Ying Yong and Dao are close together so Kittikorn realises he has no chance with Dao so his parents think about Srai Gnam who is a doctor. Thep befriends with Kittikorn. Ying Yong meets Bai but doesn't realize Bai is his father. Kitty wishes his son Kittikorn to marry the daughter of Yen. Yen refuses. Kitty loses his nerves so hits both Yen and Ngam Sai. Before Ying Yong can do anything, Bai intervenes and punches violently Kitty. Kitty becomes half paralyzed due his fall. Ngam Sai as doctor treats him. Ying Yong realises the kindness of Ngam Sai. The grandmother now wants to have Ying Yong to marry Ngam Sai. Urai cannot support this and tells the truth about Ying Yong to her son Kittikorn. She then quits Kitty and goes back to Bangkok. With the help of Kittikorn and Thep, the ruffians wish to storm Thorasok domain and gets the 200 000 baht stored there. Kittikorn wants them to kill Ying Yong also. Kittkorn hits Dao (หลานสาว Yong Yot) and kidnaps her. Meanwhile ruffians attack the house at nighttime (ถูกปล้น). Bai is killed by Kittikorn (ชาติชั่ว). Kitty is shot during the fighting and discloses the truth to Ying Yong before dying. Ngam Sai is identified as second daughter of Yong Yot. As it turns badly, Kittikorn escapes and wishes to flee with Dao. Dao shots Kittikorn and becomes crazy. Peace can finally happens in Srai Sok domain. Some mute sequences lasting 16 minutes haven't been released on the DVD. Maybe because the dubbing was missing for those parts? Maybe the VCD and DVD versions had to last the same time? Those sequences show the baby found by Adinan, Kitty having heated discussion with his mother and Adinan, Yen treated as a domestic helper by Kitty and Urai, Bai carrying big jar, Urai and Kitty showing their son to the mother, Kitty and her mother in front of the father’s corpse, Kittikorn punching Ying Yong.

Thai movie จอมมหากาฬทับทิมดำ was released in year 1966. This is a Thai German production. On Thai side Tae Prakardwutthisan is the co producer. Other foreign titles used for this movie are "Espionnage à Bangkok pour U-92", "Der Fluch Des Schwarzen Rubin", "The Curse Of The Black Ruby" or "13 days to die". It is a 35mm movie. It seems to be not available in Thailand anymore but luckily still in overseas markets. Choomporn steals a necklace in a museum but gets shot down. Detective Tracy is hired to find back the jewellery by Prince Kula. Prince Kula is continuously blackmailed. The stones are given back to him one by one every day but he needs to pay 3M to avoid death on the last thirteenth day. On the way to museum, Tracy and his assistants (Pongo, Hank) are attacked (Adinan Singhiran). They meet Cheetra (Metta Roongrat), expert in old jewellery. A poisoned butterfly with a microphone is found in the prince room. Preeya, Mr Parkson's girlfriend, is identified as the spy inside Prince Kula's home. Tracy starts to suspect Dr Barrington and Mr Parkson. As it is a 1960s movie, James bond's gadget is used to find car location. The fifth section of the necklace has disappeared since many years. Cheetra brings Tracy to see the Royal Barge procession. This movie offers unique opportunity to see colorful Bangkok fifty years ago as many Thai movies fifty years old are often in bad condition. Old Mrs Mom Chan Phuangwan announces to Tracy that Dr Barrington has been found dead. Cheetra brings Tracy to Surin elephant festival. Prince Kula has to ride an elephant. Mr Parkson kidnaps Cheetra as she is the only to decipher the secret message included in the necklace and leading to an ancient city in the jungle. Mr Parkson is looking for an ancient city (Ayutthaya) where a treasure is supposed to be found. The only treasure is a stock of uranium. Cheetra is in fact the descendant of the prince to whom the necklace belongs to. Following multiple rebondissements Tracy and Cheetra are safe.

Movie Operation Bangkok / เพชรตัดเพชร was released in year 1966 and lasts 1h50mn. It is a HK Thai co production managed by three film directors including Wichit Khunawut. Mitr Chaibancha meets Yot (Luechai Natnat). An exchange of suitcases happens over a bridge. Adinan Singhiran is Yot’s acolyte. Yot betrays Mitr and tries to keep the two suitcases. Shooting happens and Yot flees. Choomporn Theppitak is part of a gang led by Kecha Plianvithee. Yot belongs to the same gang also. Luechai arrives in Hong Kong. He meets Adul Dulyarat on a boat to exchange drugs against money. The drug is fake and he steals the money by punching Adul. He flees to Bangkok and escapes to Choomporn, who tries to shoot him with a long range rifle. Yot has betrayed (ทรยศ) Kecha. Yot meets singer Pai Lu (Hong Kong actress Regina Pai Ping) in the plane and sympathizes. Mitr disguises himself as Chat, a tough ruffian, to infiltrate Kecha’s gang. Chadaporn Wachirapranee is Chat’s old wife so he punches Sompol Kongsuwan to show he is back. Chao Klaewklong introduces Chat to Kecha. Kecha is looking for a new right-hand man (แขนขวาคนใหม่) as Yot betrayed him. Kecha wishes Chat to get rid of Yot. Ratsamee (Petchara Chaowarat) loves Yot but Yot also loves Pai Lu, who is in fact an undercover policewoman from Hong Kong. Ratsamee warns Yot that Adul is around looking for him. Pai Lu and Ratsamee escape from Adul but get arrested by policeman Lor Tok, who ignore they are from Interpol Police (ตำรวจสากล). A painting called เพชรตัดเพชร is purchased by Wilaiwan Watthanaphanit bidding against Kecha. Miss Boran (Kaenjai Meenakanit) is the sexy painter. Adul wishes to buy the jewel hidden in the painting but this one is now always worn by Miss Boran. The jewel contains a password (รหัด). Choomporn kills Miss Boran to get the jewel but Yot and his team steal it from him also. Pai Lu is surnamed HK 16. Mitr is surnamed BKK 38 (ตำรวจไทยเจ้าชู้อย่างนี้ทุกคนหรือค่ะ?). Mitr helps Pai Lu chased by two ruffians including Choomporn. Chat brings Pai Lu himself to Kecha. Understanding that she is an enemy (ศัตรู), she is condemned to be shot by Choomporn but Chat succeeds to charge the gun with blank bullets. Yot falls in a trap prepared by Adul to steal the diamond but it fails and Adul dies. Yot wishes to make peace with Kecha. Kecha wants only one right-arm man so both Chat and Yot have to fight against each other. Pai Lu and Petchara ask them to stop fighting. They are all captured by Kecha. Part of the movie is then lost here. Wilaiwan shots Ratsamee. Hopefully Pai Lu shots Wilaiwan and can help Ratsamee on time. Thai police attack the ruffians. All are killed or captured but Kecha succeeds to flee. Kecha refuses to surrender to the Thai police and prefers to explode his boat. The movie ends up on a sad note as Pai Lu has to leave Chat to go back back to Hong Kong, Ratsamee is separated from Yot as he has to go to jail. This movie is still available in Hong Kong under title 諜海蛟龍 and was shown on cable TV. The famous song of this movie is ดวงใจ by singer สวลี ผกาพันธุ์. This movie is one of the best confrontations between Thai superstars Mitr Chaibancha and Luechai Natnat. As it is a HK Thai co production, it is interesting to find that the Chinese version poster features Chinese actress Regina Pai Ping’s head in big size. Mitr Chaibancha and Petchara Chaowarat are displayed in small size. But the Thai poster displays more prominently Mitr Chaibancha and Petchara Chaowarat. In the Chinese synopsis, Mitr Chaibancha is written as mi-tsai- wan-chai (Thai detective No 78) and called as Ah Tsai in the movie. Regina Pai Ping (Hong Kong agent No 113) is called as Pai Lu in the movie. Petchara Chaowarat is written as Pi-chai-la and called as Sha Mei in the movie. The movie was so famous that it was released once in year 1966 and then reshown again in year 1975. The original version lasts 2h20mn but the 1975 version was reduced to less than 2 hours as both movies เพชรตัดเพชร and คนเหนือคน were shown together. The DVD released by company Pantamit is based on the 1975 version. It took five years for company Pantamit to convince the film owner to lend it in order to make a digital copy. Another film copy remains in the Thai Film archives.

Thai movie พระอภัยมณี was released in year 1966 and lasts 1h50mn. Movie director is ครูรังสี ทัศนพยัคฆ์. It was released on VCD and DVD formats by company XxX (Triple X), owned by Khun Toh Pantamit. In year 1999, Toh Pantamit bought the 16mm film. In year 2000, the movie was digitized (15,000 THB per hour!). Then there is still a need to dub, add background music, find piphat original traditional music (ปี่). So it is very costly to release again old movies. The movie was shown in year 2001 in Sala Chalermkrung Theater for Mitr Chaibancha annual commemoration day. It was finally released under VCD and DVD in year 2002. This film is based on a story from Phra Aphai Mani, an epic poem by poet Sunthorn Phu. Actors and actresses include Mitr Chaibancha, Lor Tok, Sukon Koewliam, Adinan Singhiran, Petchara Chaowarat, Manee Maneewan (playing the mermaid), Kingdao Daranee, Sisala Thongtara, เปรมชัย ประภากร. Phra Aphai Manee (Kramon) and his brother Srisuwan come back to their hometown but their boat strands on a remote island. They come back from studying abroad. A lady giant ("YAK" - ยักษ์) abducts Kramon because he plays music so well that she loves him immediately. Kramon becomes her husband. The lady giant changes her shape into a beautiful lady and finally gets pregnant. A boy is born and is called Sinsamut. Kramon is missing his family and never gets full confidence from his giant wife who always closes the heavy stone door when going out of the cave to look for food. His son is human but with the strength of a giant. Following a scary nightmare, the lady giant goes to pray during three days in order to ease the gods. Meanwhile the son opens the door and both escape from the cavern. A beautiful mermaid and her parents bring them to a far island but the lady giant, after three days, chases after them. A local yogi helps them to chase the lady giant but she takes revenge by killing the mermaid's parents. A love story starts with the mermaid. She becomes pregnant also (she will have later a son called Sudsakorn but it is another story. Kramon becomes a monk to pay for his bad deeds. It is impossible to quit the island. One day, a boat is coming with a King and his daughter. Kramon decides to leave the island and brings his son to the kingdom. He promises to come back for the mermaid. On the way back, the lady giant sinks the boat. Kramon believes Sinsamut has drowned and he refuses to go back with his former wife despite her tears and longing requests as giants and humans cannot live together. She prefers to die instead of leaving him. Her heart breaks following sad music played by Kramon. He promises to live with her during next life when she will be reincarnated as a human. The son cannot prevent his mother’s death in time.

Thai movie สิงห์สันติภาพ was released in year 1966 and lasts 2h12mn. The movie is only available in mute state as the remaining film was in 16mm format only. Red berets soldiers including Adinan Singhiran, Boo Wibunnan and Luechai Natnat fight against each other in a bar due to a girl. Their boss เช้า asks them to stop. They go for a mission in the jungle. The soldiers team includes one lady played by Sopha Sataporn. While crossing a river, Sopha is dragged away due the strong current but Luechai is helping her. Fightings happen in the jungle. Leader เช้า is killed. Sopha becomes the new leader. Some men refuse to get a female leader so a fighting happens between Luechai and one soldier. Luechai wins. At nighttime another soldier tries to abuse Sopha but thanks to Luechai, she pushes back the attacker. Luechai and a soldier help lady Metta Roongrat being aggressed by blue berets soldiers while bathing in a stream. Metta guides them in the forest and helps them to make a piège to blue berets. Metta helps them also to push back a night assault. Romance starts between Metta and Luechai but it is bringing disappointment to Sopha. One soldier is injured and has difficulties to walk. They get attacked again and some soldiers, getting mad, lose their life by taking inconsiderate risks. Metta gets also killed. Lost, Luechai finally wakes up in a camp led by a lady (อัญชนา วงศ์เกษม). She is disappointed when seeing Luechai walking hand in hand with Sopha. Some red beret soldiers steal gems offered to the local deity worshipped in the village. Luechai gets accused but Sopha helps him as one of the leader (ทม วิศวชาติ), also loving the chief lady, despises Luechai. He is in fact a traitor. A final battle happens between soldiers. They finally reach the blue berets camp led by Tawan Siriwat. A few soldiers sacrifice their life in order to release Luechai. Finally the blue berets camp is destroyed.

It was released under VCD and DVD format by Thai company TripleX owned by former dubber คุณโต๊ะพันธมิตร. Rumours say there is a ghost (ผี) around Wang Prai (วังไพร) domain. Adinan Singhiran tries to prevent hunter Wikrom to go there. Wikrom is bitten by a snake (งูเจ้า) while entering in Wang Prai to find the ghost. Wang Prai is a 2500 rai domain. Kramom (Preuhat Boonlong) and Ekarin (Tat Ekathat) are now enemies (ศัตรูของพ่อ) due to old family stories over the domain possession. Chai (Mitr Chaibancha) is son of Kramom. Lor Tok is Kramon's attendant. Choompu (Kingdao Daranee) is one of Ekarin’s daughter. Somjit Sapsamruey is Ekarin’s wife. Prapayon (Preeya Roongrueng) wishes to marry Chai but this one has more interest in Koi (Petchara Chaowarat), Ekarin's second daughter. Chai's parents don't like Koi. In fact Chai doesn't approve elders’ decision to be enemies. Phi Pong (Adul Dulyarat) is Koi's elder brother but he has disappeared for many years. Chai's brother (Prachuap Ruekyamdee), a doctor, comes back to Thailand with a lady called Nathalie and her kid. They are Pong's family. 500 000 baht are needed to cure him. Koi and Chai succeed to find enough money by lying to elders. Pong is finally cured but elders refuse to allow weddings between Chai Phi / Koi and Chai Nong / Choompu. So the youngsters simulate fleeing and hide in Wang Prai. As the grandchild is about to fall from a cliff, the grandfathers help each other and regain friendship. Weddings are authorised. LaRoche and two Thai men steal a diamond encrusted in a sacred Buddha statue head. LaRoche betrays the Thai men and leaves them to their fate while keeping the diamond for himself. During the troupe review army day by the King of Thailand, Bradberry, mine expert, is asked to go to South of Thailand. Mr Chang (Op Boonthit), owner of a mine in South Thailand, wishes to retire. Larry Flinch, working in the mine, is a drunkard and is fired by Mr Chang. Very soon, Mr Chang seems to have been attacked by a panther and dies. Roller is the new chief of operations. Monk (Sawin Sawangrat) has arguments with Larry. Monk and Larry shall meet in Silver Moon bar. Larry meets there a sexy lady called Eva and a fight erupts. Monk is found dead being killed by a black panther also. Jack Roller plans to sell the tin mine to go back to Europe so the buyer is sending an inspector, Mr Bradberry. Nicole Anderson is a doctor in a Catholic mission led by Father Antonio. Madeleine is Jack's girlfriend and had introduced him to Mr Chang. A Thai man, the second complice in the burglary is also killed. Father Antonio is also killed. Bradberry and Nicole believe those four murders are linked. Who is the killer? Larry? Roller? After his tests, the mine purity is deemed not so good so Bradberry refuses to sign the buying contract. Veteran actor Thai Akom Mokaranondha is also playing in this movie. Roller kidnaps Nicole to force Bradberry to sign the papers. Roller and LaRoche are in fact the same man. Larry helps them but LaRoche succeeds to flee. Finally LaRoche is arrested by the police led by Eva while trying to pocket the mine selling. The Black Panther of Ratana (มือสือ) is a Thai co production with Germany and was released in year 1963. It was a joint effort between Tae Prakardwutthisan and German Hans Berthel. For the release in Thailand a special scene was added in the movie, i.e. around 16 minutes of songs and featuring a few famous singers and comic actors in Thailand (Sukon Koewliam, Dokdin Kanyaman, Adinan Singhiran, Mom Chan - หม่อมชั้น). Wang is the child of Phikul and Somporn, but Somporn broke up with Phikul to marry another lady called Ladda. Domestic helper lady Chap recognizes Wang and manages his education to save face to her employer Nai Somporn. At 10 years old, as the domestic helper dies, Wang is alone again. Somporn and Ladda keep beating Wang as they despise him. Wang quits the house with his red satin cloth and looks for his real mother Pikul. By chance, ruffian Thieng escapes death as the Police don’t dare to shoot him as they are afraid to hit the child Wang. Ruffian Thieng takes Wang with him and raises him as his own child. Despite living about robbers, Wang (Mitr Chaibancha) grows up as an honest man. Soi (Orasa Isarangkul), daughter of ruffian Thieng, likes Wang but Wang doesn’t like her as her elder brother Thiep likes to bully him. One night, Wang helps young lady Duang Kae, who has been kidnapped by ruffians. Love emerges and they promise to meet again. The problem is that Duang Kae already has a fiance, Palat Charin. Knowing about the kidnapping, Palat Charin decides to send Thai Police to catch the robbers. Ruffian leader Thieng is betrayed by ruffian Hao and his son Hiem. He is shot dead. Wang has a misunderstanding. He wishes to get revenge on Duang Kae and prepares to rob her house. During, he faces Phikul, being Duang Kae’s mother-in-law, and being his own mother! The robbing ends well. Somporn and Ladda prepare a plan to get rid of Wang and use Phikul and Soi to attract him. It ends as a duel between Wang and Somporn. In the short remaining sequences, Orasa dies in Mitr’s arms. His mother gives him the red silk as Orasa just died.

Petchara is now living in a nice house and wears beautiful clothes. Taksin is upset that Chaiya and Petchara are friends. Chaiya helps Petchara aggressed while taking care of a baby. Petchara uses a gun to protect Taksin also being threatened by a ruffian. A remake of ดอกแก้ว was released in year 1981 and featured Sorapong Chatree. At that time Dok Kaew was a famous movie and was projected as same time บันทึกรักพิมพ์ฉวี. Having two famous actors such as Mitr and Chaiya helped to boost Petchara’s career.

This 16mm version is partially lost and only 48 minutes are still left to be seen. The film has no sound as all 16mm movies were dubbed. Rung’s best close friend is a bird "NOK IENG" (นกเอี้ยง) sitting on her shoulder. As often in old Thai movies, bad female characters are depicted as smoking girls. Another version, a 35mm film, was shot in 1980 with Sorapong Chatree, Sor Asanajinda, Settha Sirachaya as actors and Nanthida Kaewbuasai, Pissamai Wilaisak, Piathip Kumwong, Thitima Sangkapitak, Nantada Ngaokrajang as actresses. A few sequences can be seen in both movies such as fruit throwing on Sombat's head, Sombat as a teacher to a stubborn student, Sombat looking for Rung who has fled from home. A nice old Renault 1960 is driven by Sombat. Some sequences only happen in 1961 version such as a romantic sequence in a cave, Sombat doing unsuccessful iron clothing and cooking food.
