Thai movie รด เขาชนผีที่เขาชนไก่ was released in year 2015 and lasts 1h20mn. It is a Phranakorn Film production. It is a ghost teen comedy taking place in an army background. It is a modern teen movie with sexual jokes, burp gags, flatulences, toilets jokes and using modern teen language. It was forbidden under 13 years old. Soldier comedy movies were very popular during 1980s decade, but they were family movies. In this movie, various characters are featured including one always bullied by others, gay characters... A group of young soldiers call for ghost. A dead instructor ghost (Somchai Kemglad) is seen (ผีหลอก). Some ghost appearances are in fact jokes done by some young soldiers, but some are linked to the instructor ghost... The instructor ghost is probably looking for justice. Some parts of the movie remind of the บ้านผีปอบ serie movies where villagers were trying to escape ghosts chasing them. This movie even features Boys band group music. Finally, another ghost is protecting the young soldiers against the instructor ghost (ครู), i.e. Dalai. A young soldier had heart disease and died as instructor Dalai forced him to do too much exercices. Being responsible, instructor Dalai got suicide.

This movie (รักเว้ยเฮ้ย - 2012) deals about a romance in a local radio station. A programmer called Luak loves secretly the DJ called Taoi. His uncle Na Ma has to teach him how to seduce girls as he is single (ผู้หญิงสมัยนี้ ชอบคนดี พบคนเลว แต่งงานก้บคนรวย). Gags featured are similar to TV shows with drum sounds to highlight funny moments. Na Ma first starts to analyze her rubbish, then offers a dog, provides restaurant advice and also suggests a movie invitation. Luak is shy and doesn't dare to talk. Na Ma’s advices are always a failure. Anyway Taoi starts to see the interest that Yuak has in her. They become boyfriend and girlfriend but jealousy happens as a young rich guy tries to seduce Taoi. Finally after speaking in a concert and declaring his love in front of a huge crowd, they reconcile. This romance comedy includes some katoeys (กะเทย) as stupid second roles as often seen in modern Thai romantic comedy movies (rom-com).

This movie is a comedy that explores the lives in front and behind the camera of Thai's film industry. Mum Jokmok has invited all the comic actors from decade 2000s such as Tukkie, Pongsak Pongsuwan, Akom Preedakul, Thep Po-ngam... Certainly not a 100 millions baht movie, which is the new mark for box-office hit for decade 2000s movies. Thep Po-ngam is Mum Jokmok's mentor. In 2009, the Court of Justice of Thailand affirmed Thep Po-ngam bankrupt so there is self irony when he visits Mum Jokmok to produce a movie. He finally only gets a role as actor. Mum Jokmok is responsible of a company making movies. Same as comic TV programs, there is a funny noise at each gag. Mum Jokmok is the director (ผู้กำกับ) and faces many comic issues to have the movie shot. It includes the ceremony (งานเลี้ยงปิดกลอง) for the blessing of a new movie. Various comic sequences happing during shooting and behind the stage. This movies looks like more a succession of sketchs linked with a Thai movie shooting background. It looks like more a TV comic program put on a movie stage. There is no real story.

It is a comedy about three men unfaithful to their wives. They always need to find excuses for their wives as they are coming back home late. Up to now their lies succeeded to convince their wives. Teng (actor Shahkrit Yamnarm) needs to find a new model. He finds a beautiful woman in a mall and takes pictures of her but forget to ask her contact references. Teng finally meets her in a bar. Her name is Sosi. Teng is expert to play the liar (สบายๆ) but Sosi is also lying. Her husband is called Sia. Finally Teng's two friends are uncovered by their wives as their lies were getting bigger and bigger (working late - OT, late meetings, fight against ruffians...). Proofs were stored in their blackBerry smartphones. To make him stop, one of the wife sings in a pub he often frequents and she accepts tips from customers (ทำประชด). Teng has a lovely wife called Bow but a love story is really starting between Sosi and Teng. Finally the male stratagems are discovered. They have to stay home and bring their wives to a holidays resort. But they cannot stop trying seducing other women. They use sedative drugs to make their wives fall asleep (ยานอนหลับ). The drugs don’t last enough and the three men are caught being with girls again by their wives. A final last chance is given. Sia is upset by Sosi’s behavior and wishes to punish her. Sosi’s brother calls Teng for help but Teng has promised to his wife to stop seeing Sosi. Teng and his friends try to rescue Sosi but are captured. Their wives, following them, are also captured. Sia forces them to play silly and humiliating games (mud game, paint game...) to save their husbands. Mum Jokmok, as a guest star apparition, makes them all released. Bow and Teng reconcile once again. But the three men cannot stop flirting (หลายใจ) when seeing beautiful women. Morality is kept as the husbands stays with their wife. There is a few comic guest stars apparition, i.e. Akom Preedakul, Note Chernyim, Mum Jokmok, Jaturong Mokjok. Former Miss Photogenic International Passorn Boonyakiat is playing one of the wives. There is a succession of gags similar to Thai TV comedy shows. This movie is about the old chauvinist Thai tradition to have minor wives (เมียน้อย). Gags are often over exaggerated with easy references such as the shy timid wife wearing glasses.

Pee Toom Tim is a gay ghost comedy taking place during football World cup qualifications. Rak is a successful football goalkeeper and is part of Thailand national team. During a match, he is injured on the head and dies. A spirit (วิญญาณ), called Ming, enters the dead body. The big issue is that Ming is gay so Rak's character changes from a macho to a gay style. Ming has to deal with Rada, Rak's girlfriend. Rak's goalkeeper duty is important as Thailand national football team has the opportunity to qualify for the first time for World cup. His teammates believe Rak is crazy as he is talking alone but in fact talking in fact with Yama (พระยม), the hell god. Ming has to perform a few missions (qualify the football team for world cup, declare his love to Rada, help for the acceptance of a gay member in a family - เป็นกะเทยแต่เป็นคนดี - and in Thai society as a whole, help a young Thai man to achieve his dreams to be a dancer instead of being a policeman as requested by his father, organize a wedding between a cheerleader and a footballer and so on...). As usual, there are a few bad cliches about gay characters working in bars or gay shows. One of the coach promises to drug the national team as he has debts with the mafia. As he knows that Rak is possessed by a spirit, the coach is seeking help from a master (อาจารย์) in order to fight Ming (ผีนรก / ผีตูด). Ming prevents this to happe and the national team is qualified. Finally Rak spirit is allowed to come back in his own body. The movie was shot in 2002 but only released in 2009 as the executive producer worried for Sahamongkol Film International reputation!

Thai movie สาระแนห้าวเป้ง was released in year 2009 and lasts 1h41mn. The three Thai comedy actors, Willie, Ple, and Hoi from popular prank show "Saranae," brought their TV show program on the golden screen. This show was very popular on TV, so the movie was also a big commercial success. It made 92M THB. A comic group hires two junior comics and perform pranks on them by using hidden camera. During 120 days, the two junior comics have to perform pranks on famous people such as comic actor Koeti Aramboy, Korean K-pop girl band called Baby Walk, Carabao Ed and comic actor Mum Jomok. They meet Mum Jomok for a movie proposal. Mum Jomok orders food without paying the bill. The three Thai comedy actors have to run away. Mum Jomok finally accepts to join their movie but is in bad mood during the shooting. A sequence with taxi driving like crazy makes Mum Jomok very upset. They try to excuse themselves with Mum Jomok. Mum Jomok complained about Saranae team but finally accepted their excuses. Maybe it was just to make a commercial buzz before the release of the movie. Finally, pranks are even performed on the two junior comics also!

A group of Thai people include three cripples. Yot has bad teeth, Leh is cross eyed and Suey has a crippled leg. A policeman loves Suey and is ready to everything to ask for her hand. Suey is working in a market. When they see the fee (ค่าเช่า) required by the mafia to all market stalls, they wish to enter a local mafia gang to become rich. They are accepted and have to kidnap a teen but they mistake with the son of another mafia boss. To escape the boss fury, they have to hide in a Karaoke and then take refuge in a Chinese shrine. The mafia kid doesn't want to come back with his father. They finally end up in a haunted house. The movie ends up with good feelings (wedding, father and son reunited...). It is a typical comic movie of decade 2000 including many verbal and visual jokes. It is similar to a TV comic show with a drum beat for each gag. Such comedy can sell well but only at the local Thai market due to indigenous gags. There is still a market in Thailand for such simple but entertaining comedy. This movie is an low average production with a loose script and a collage of gags.

This B-grade Thai movie is about supernatural events happening during an eclipse. A rich heiress, Jiratikan , is shot and her boyfriend has a deadly car accident during the eclipse. Her brother in law planed to get rid of Jiratikan to get her money and so engaged a black magic sorcerer. This latter uses dead men and transform them into zombies to try to kill Jiratikan . He even uses Jiratikan 's dead boyfriend. Hopefully, a young policeman is here to protect Jiratikan and investigates on these mysterious assassination attempts.

Thai movie หม่ำต้มยำผี was released in year 1994 and lasts only 1h09mn. It is a Hong Kong movie Cat III called 淫魔暴行 / "Devil of love" and shot in Thailand. It is a horror R movie (R - Restricted) lasting 1h17mn. It is available under VCD / DVD format and was released by Happy Time Marketing Co company. It is possible that this HK movie was never released in Thailand. Many years later, such movies were released in VCD / DVD format and were highlighting the presence of famous comic actor Mum Jokmok despite him having only a second role. Due to marketing purpose, as Mum Jokmok was popular, the movie name was changed to หม่ำต้มยำผี (Mum Tom Yam Ghost). The movie is censored in order to be released widely under VCD format as love sequences are blurred or even cut. Master Mum Jokmok is fighting versus Pao Porapak. Both have supernatural powers. Elder brother Kwan is back from overseas studies. A will is opened as his father died suddenly. The daughter Chiep and the son Kwan get 100% of the heritage. The young mother-in-law (แม่เลี้ยง) Oi just gets authorisation to stay in the house. If anything happens to the children, then the heritage will be hers. Nattaporn, Oi’s lover, promises to manage this. Kwan is upset as his father died so fast. He has a bad relationship with the young mother-in-law. Kwan, his sister Chiep and her boyfriend have issues with ruffians hired by Oi in a discotheque. Nattaporn is doing black magic incantations to cause Kwan to have a motorbike accident. He falls in hell (เมืองผี) and meets his father! The father warns him about Oi and tells him how to go back to the earthen world. Nattaporn is some kind of vampire. Kwan is back as a ghost and contacts the lawyer, who is afraid of ghosts. Nattaporn kidnaps Chiep. Kwan asks for the lawyer's help. Kwan possesses Oi's body to kill Nattaporn but he fails. Master (อาจารย์) Mum is then involved in order to defeat Nattaporn. Following lengthy fighting, Nattaporn and Oi are defeated. The Thai version is cut too much to be appreciated and the release under a new name is just a commercial gimmick as Mum Jokmok has only a limited second role.

ผืแม่ม่าย 5 movie lasts 1h23mn. It was released in year 1994 and is available under VCD format. Similar to "BAAN PHI POP" (บ้านผีปอบ) serie, this movie is a mix of comedy and horror. The comedy takes a bigger part that the horror part. A young lady called Kun is aggressed in her house. The rapist is masked. The young lady fights back with a knife but finally gets stabbed. Plaew is her younger sister. Kun is accused by villagers of being now a ผืแม่ม่าย (widow ghost) as a young man is found stabbed. A group of Bangkokians led by Plaew return to a countryside village. This group features students enjoying party and เล่นผี. There are various characters in the group, ie the big comic, the small comic, the bad mouth mischievous comic, the playboy, the sexy girl... Plaew decides to go back to her village to understand what happened to her sister. She is welcomed by the local subdistrict headman, who is handicapped. Her friends (คนกรุงเทพ) follow her. Ceremony สะเดาะเคราะห์ is performed to chase away the widow ghost. One of the young villagers (Tongchai Prasongsanti) verifies that lady Throngsi is not a ghost (มีของดี เป็นคนดี). Plaew and Warut decide to dig to find the body. They are aggressed (จับตัวไป). Finally the responsible is the subdistrict headman, who simulates being handicapped. Plaew simulates being a ghost to reveal the subdistrict headman’s fault but it is not enough. The real ghost frightens the subdistrict headman, who suddenly can walk. While fleeing, he falls and breaks his neck on a rock.

The father's old friend is dead but his son, Pai, accepts helping after reading the letter. Santit comes with his girlfriend Mina and another friend named Tongchai. They enter the forest. Tongchai, Vina and helper Kraimuk get drunk on the first night. Tongchai almost dies in the snake spirit's arms. The expedition leader Prai asks them not to drink alcohol in the forest anymore as it is dangerous. Kraimuk drinks again and tries to abuse Vina. Later, Kraimuk is found dead by his colleagues. He was seduced by the snake spirit. Mina is Sansit's girlfriend but Santit is a bit tired of her. Santit meets a beautiful lady, Sitha, in the forest, who promises to give him herbal plants. It is the snake spirit… On the following night, the snake spirit tries to seduce Santit but hopefully Pai helps. Afraid of snakes, Vina asks to go home. Santit proposes she leaves first. Tongchai, drunk again, defies the snake spirit and almost dies. All want to leave but Santit asks to stay one more day. Santit meets secretly the snake spirit lady Sitha. She tries to chase Santit's friends away. Vina and Tongchai become lovers and leave. Pai is back to help Santit. Kraimuk's former red cloth has some magic power as it chases snakes’ spirits (โดนวิญญาณ) away. Santit is back to meet Sitha. Pai is back before the next full moon with additional sacred weapons. He finally releases Santit and gets rid of the snake spirit Sitha.

"BAAN PHI POP" (บ้านผีปอบ) movies serie had a huge popularity and has generated even worst movies trying to surf on a similar business wave. This low budget movie mixes horror, comedy and Hong Kong action style fight. Unknown actors are featured. Such B grade movies are often short films around 1h15mn and take place in countryside village. The soundtrack is using popular foreign songs. Tawan is a young man, disciple of a Chinese master (อาจารย์). The Chinese master is in quarrel with another master called Dang. They were also disciplines before but Dang turned to dark side. Tawan is in love with Chantra, young lady owner of a noodle shop. Four ruffians are digging in the Chinese cemetery to get bones to make magic filter. They aggress Chantra. Two Chinese ghosts help Chantra. In fact Tawan was disguised to spy for people stealing bones in the Chinese cemetery. Master Dang decides to use a strong demon (ปีศาจ) to defeat the Chinese master. He needs virgin blood (สาวบริสุทธิ์) to make his demon invulnerable. He has Chantra in mind. The demon (ผีดิบ) kills Dang and captures Chantra. Tawan follows the demon and succeeds to defeat it to free Chantra. Some parts are censored. They are at least cut in the VCD version. There is a guess that some luring parts have been removed. Some sequences are precursory of Ong Bak (องค์บาก) movie as action scenes are repeated two times through different angles and timing to show the action skills. Panna Rittikrai (พันนา ฤทธิไกร), stunt choreography, has been well-known to play and direct similar movies. Such B-grade action and horror movies were popular from the mid-1980s to 1997. They were popular among taxi drivers, spicy papaya salad (ส้มตำ) vendors, security guards and Isan coolies. Folk people in the far-out provinces enjoyed watching such low-budget outdoor movies. Such B grade movies received only limited releases in small provincial theatres. They have been recently resurrected by Lepso Studio in the form of 39-baht VCDs. Many of those movies are bad, made to gain just enough money to invest in the next movie!

Oncle Je has a new wife. She is a Phi pop spirit (ผีปอบ). น้อง Tum is her beautiful daughter. Teacher (อาจารย์) brings his cinema students to Kanchanaburi for outdoor outing. The teacher is a nuisance as he is always complaining. This version features a slight higher budget as there are original songs. Students tease the teacher as they disguise themselves as ghosts (ผีหลอก). But the real spirit Phi pop is wandering around and possesses a woman teacher. Tum has a hidden lover so her mother kills him and eats his intestines (ไส้). Two students are then killed by the possessed teacher. Other students found their teacher eating raw bloody intestines! The two Phi pop spirits meet in the students' camp and fight together. Students need to find a way to fight back the Phi pop spirits. By using a bait, the students succeed to capture the two Phi pop spirits in a cage. A real shaman (หมอผี) is needed as two Phi pop spirits escape and support each other. Continuous chase pursuits between the students and the Phi pop spirits happen (จับๆ จับๆ). Phi pop spirits are finally killed savagely by the smart students. Part of the movie takes place in the famous Prasat Muang Sing Historical Park in Kanchanaburi. As usual the “Phi pop” (ผีปอบ) movies franchise deal with a rural background and low level jokes. Phi pop movies franchise deal with a succession of gags, traditional sexy bath sequences with sarong (ผ้าถุง) and cheap 1970s Fx like. Following the success of “Baan Phi Pop” movies (บ้านผีปอบ) franchise, another team created this serie but it only last 2 episodes.

They meet Anna, who is Chat Chai’s younger sister. Phi Saeng (Kawee Sirikhanerut), a local ruffian, likes Anna. He is upset as Anna doesn’t show interest in him. Saeng sees Tanun as a rival. Anna dances (เต้นรำ) with Tanun. Saeng complains to his father Song, who is a local shaman (หมอผี) and asks for his help. The father gets a corpse and resurrects it. The two couples go into the jungle with some villagers guides to find a cave. Saeng and two of his men follow them. Several dead men are found in the village. Villagers suspect the shaman Song, so the village leader visits him. The shaman refuses to help so the village leader consults a female witch (แม่มด)(actress ปอบทองคำ). She gets possessed by a กุมาร ทอง (Sanctified young boy) and confirms the murders’ responsible is Shaman Song. The local shaman is captured by villagers led by the witch. As the shaman refuses to recognize his responsibility in the villagers murders, so the villagers burn him. His spirit takes refuge in a coffin. Meanwhile the four friends are attacked in the forest, but it is a trick set up by Saeng. Defeated, Saeng uses black magic to win Anna’s heart. A zombie is sent to the village to attack the house of the village leader. The witch sends a sanctified young boy (กุมาร ทอง) to affront him. The zombie is pushed back by the sanctified young boy. The four friends defeat the zombie by burning its coffin. Back to the village, all villagers are dead except the witch. They were all killed by Saeng. Saeng is finally defeated by them.

The fourth opus of "Baan Phi Pop" (บ้านผีปอบ) continues with the same characters. Some students come to stay in a countryside house taken care by Ya Yip (หยิบ) and the local sorcerer. The students almost get all killed except three who succeed to flee. In the village a lady called Mae Srinuan gets interest from a few old bachelors. She is seen as a "Phi Pop" ghost but some bachelors don't believe in it. Mae Srinuan kills a young girl, called Tien, who was waiting for her boyfriend at night time. The three remaining stranded students arrive in the village. One of the students has the same face as the young villager girl who just died so it creates confusion in the village. The students help the Bangkokian doctors coming to the village to treat local villagers. During a last fight between Mae Srinuan and the local sorcerer, the local sorcerer gets stabbed and is reduced to ashes. Nothing new in this fourth opus with similar recipes as previous movies. Old "Phi Pop" characters die and new "Phi Pop" appears. Only Ya Yip remains. Similar pursuits in accelerated motion with various gags still happen. Villagers wear armours to prevent "Phi pop" ghosts eating their intestines. Villagers also use guns loaded with syringe to put to sleep Ya Yip but they confuse anesthetic and methamphetamine (ยาบ้า) so making Ya Yip overexcited! Each movie opus brings modern items in the village such as skateboard. Sometimes the movie serie looks like a cartoon where "phi pop" ghosts chase and try to catch the villagers and Bangkokian doctors. The villagers and Bangkokian doctors have to use more and more clever tricks and technics to escape the ghosts. The ghosts also try various technics to catch them and even use modern vehicles (skateboard, flying bicycle...) to run faster.

This movie is Baan Phi Pop (บ้านผีปอบ) opus 6. Number 5 was skipped as another team made their own Baan Phi Pop serie. The first opus of the new serie was renamed from Baan Phi Pop 5 to พันธุ์ผีปอบ '34. Principal characters are still here in Baan Phi Pop 6. The district has gone through some modernisation as an hospital has been built. Ya Yip (หยิบ), the "Phi Pop" ghost, is resting at the hospital and performs a rampage with an axe. A "Phi Pop" (ผีปอบ) is an evil spirit believed to possess a person to eat his intestine while also forcing him to seek and consume raw animal organs and meat at night time. One of the hospital nurse, Kamthong, visits a village lady (Srinuan), who is sick and has the reputation to be a "Phi Pop" ghost (ปอบ) also. The village headman (ผู้ใหญ่บ้าน) wants to marry Srinuan (เราอยู่ได้เพราะว่าความหวัง). Following nuisances due to Ya Yip, the village headman is looking for a master (อาจารย์) to chase her (ไล่ปอบ). A charlatan arrives in the village. At night time Srinuan really becomes a "Phi Pop" ghost and kills some villagers to eat their intestine. As usual in Baan Phi Pop (บ้านผีปอบ) movies, there are continuous pursuits between Ya Yip, the "Phi Pop" ghost, and the villagers. This opus continues to mix gory horror and gags. New and old gags (Women in tight sarong - ผ้าถุง) spurt continuously. New weapons such as boomerang, ladder, flying bike, floating bike, flying ghost using fans as wings and a montgolfier are introduced. Many gags are similar to cartoon gags. There is good imagination from scenarists to find gags. Ya Yip is called ผีบ้า! The village headman refuses to believe that Srinuan is a "Phi Pop" ghost and continues to believe Ya Yip is responsible of the murders. Kamthong's boyfriend, Plung, is worried. Kamthong refuses Plung's request to stop visiting Srinuan as he is worried about a spirit (วิญญาณ) transfer between the two ladies. He decides to enquiry inside Srinuan house. The village headman chases the useless master as he couldn't stop Ya Yip. Plung brings one of the doctor to spy Srinuan at night time. Finally he decides to kidnap Kamthong to protect her. Srinuan tries to stop Plung causing Kamthong to be contaminated (ถูกวิญญาณปอบ) by the "Phi Pop" ghost.

It is honeymoon time and they invite five other young couples to stay in Sunai's resort. Another couple announces they will marry this month also (แต่งงานสองชั้น). All couples are having happiness. Following her friend's advice, lady Saranya consults an occult master (อาจารย์) in order to marry a man she loves. She leaves as the master is dishonest and tries to abuse her. While visiting an extension of the resort, a woman attacks Racha as she believes she is trying to take her husband away. A couple gets robbed. Luckily the car has a big mobile phone (by 1990 standards) so they can call for help. The ruffians come back to abuse (ปล้ำ) the lady. Sunai and Racha helps them on time and chase the ruffians. All friends are back to hotel and celebrate the new wedding. There is happiness among friends and happiness in the hotel rooms as couples. It is the last day before leaving for Bangkok. The friends are taking a final trip to river Kwai. One of the lady called Saranya is lost while wandering around the waterfall. Her friends are looking for her. A man is offering his help but tries to abuse her. Her friends are helping on her again on time. Sunai and Racha give happiness to their friends (สั่งสวรรค์ให้เขา) by inviting them again. This low budget movie was surely shot in a very short time and was probably only released in second class theaters (โรงหนังชั้นสอง). Presence of actress Thida Thidarat is certainly the main selling point.

Two young soldiers find a decomposed body in a bag floating on the river. They decide to bury it. A spirit exits from the tomb and transforms itself into a beautiful lady called Nuan (Trirak Rakkarndee). Nuan is given refuge in the soldiers’ home as she claims she is on the way to Bangkok but it is already nighttime. Nuan loves immediately Cheut as he is kind hearted man. It generates jealousy from Khun, the subdistrict headman’s (กำนัน) daughter, as she also loves Cheut since a long time. The subdistrict headman Son likes Nuan a lot and invites her to stay in his home as it is more comfortable than Cheut's home. Other ladies having interest in the subdistrict headman in the village start to be jealous of this Bangkok girl! The subdistrict headman follows up Nuan at nighttime but then she becomes a ghost again. The two ladies Kamlai and Kamlong visit an expert into magic (อาจารย์) to get special oil (น้ำมันพราย) to make a love filter (ยาเสน่ห์) to try seduce easier the subdistrict headman. Meanwhile the village ruffians flee away when Nuan, beautiful lady, taking a bath, becomes a ghost! The other villagers tell Cheut that Nuan is a ghost. He flees from home and shelters at subdistrict headman’s home. They ask for a local shaman’s (หมอผี) help. Nuan decides to get her husband back. But he refuses to join her again. Nuan forces Cheut's friend to play the bait. Cheut goes back to her as he is under a spell. Finally Nuan is defeated by the shaman. Many couples can now have happiness and marry. As often during years 1988s-1993s, Ekapan Banleurit and Trirak Rakkarndee are playing the main couple in those cheap horror Thai movies. Same old tricks are used with ghostly skeletons and simple basic FX effects. Such movie includes more gags than real horror. It was targeted for rural audience and not Bangkokian audience. The scenario is very similar to Mae Nak (แม่นาค) traditional old story where the young man loves and lives with a ghost without knowing it (ผีหลอก!). This movie is released by Lepso Studio. Image and sound quality are quite poor. Once again the title is wrong. It is named “ล้างเผ่าพันธุ์โคตรผีปอบ” (Holocaust of the ogre clan) but there is not a single ogre (ผีปอบ) in the movie. The VCD cover belongs to another movie called “ปีศาจแมงมุมสาว”. The real name of this movie seems to be "ต้นตระกูลปอบ".

The second opus of บ้านผีปอบ continues with the same characters. The hunter is killed. New murders happen and intestines are always missing inside the bodies. Those murders are done by the village head's daughter, Kradeung (กระดึง), who is possessed by a "Phi Pop" (ผีปอบ) spirit. It takes appereance of Pla Pleung to accuse her. A second "Phi Pop" spirit is also hanging around. It has the apperance of a middle age woman, Ya Yip (หยิบ). The two "Phi Pop" are fighting together over the village territory possession. Villagers now know that Kradeung is a "Phi Pop". They organize a "Phi Pop" hunt that turns to a fiasco. A powerful sorcerer (หมอผี) comes to the village. It gets rid of Ya Yip "Phi Pop" first but fails with Kradeung. Finally the doctor Ret and Pla Pleung succeed to remove the "Phi Pop" ghost from Kradeung body but the second "Phi Pop" is still hanging around... Same as the first opus, this movie mixes horror, comic and a few salacious jokes in a rural context. "Phi Pop" is a traditional ghost in villages so many gags are based on rural life, i.e. men drinking together at night time and believing ghost visions are due to alcohol, woman wearing a tight traditional sarong (ผ้าถุง) and bathing in a pond with male villagers dreaming the sarong will slip down, classic gag when actors chased by a ghost enter water jars and exit from other jars... There are always comic pursuits between ghost and actors in accelerated motion. This opus contains bad cuts or maybe some censure. The first opus was shot in 7 days but the further opus were shot within 10 to 20 days.

She is living with her daughter Kaew (Trirak Rakkarndee). Ruffians are sent to expel them but they are killed by the grant-mother Chom, who is a "Phi Pop" ghost. Many deaths happen in the village due to the presence of a "Phi Pop" ghost. Villagers are fed up and decide to use a sorcerer (หมอผี) to exorcise the village. The grant-mother Chom is defeated by the sorcerer and dies. Before dying, the "Phi Pop" spirit is transferred from the grant-mother to Kaew. Phalat (Ekapan Banleurit), the new village headman (กำนัน), promises to take care of Kaew. The rich trader tries to abuse Kaew but he gets killed by the "Phi Pop" ghost also. The son of the rich family has a poor girlfriend, Plaew, from the village. She is now pregnant so the son forces her to abort and causes Plaew's death. Being pursued by villagers, the "Phi Pop" ghost transfers from Kaew to Plaew. Plaew kills her bad boyfriend. Phalat has difficulty to reason villagers wishing to exercise their law versus the official law. They use a sorcerer again but this time it fails. In a hurry ending, another master neutralizes the "Phi Pop", who transfers again to another lady from the village. This movie uses same recipe as "BAAN PHI POP" (บ้านผีปอบ) movie serie, i.e. a mix of horror, comedy, a tint of salacious jokes. It opposes the village world (Chinese rich trader unable to speak Thai properly, watching movie in temple...) versus the Bangkok world (stereotype and mannerism from ผู้ดีจากกรุงเทพ...). This B type movie uses strong side lights and smoke for night scary scenes. The poor editing jumps easily from the night scene to day scene in a same sequence.

"Phi pop spirit" is back! Some people are found dead without intestines. Is Kradeung really back to a normal human being or still possessed by the "Phi Pop" spirit? New characters are introduced as actors Trirak Rakkarndee and Ekapan Banleurit are no longer part of the story. The movie highlights the opposition of villagers cured by local sorcerer (หมอผีคล้าย) and villagers cured by Bangkok doctors (หมอฝรั่ง), who offer free service. The local sorcerer wants to kill Ya Yip (หยิบ), the Phi pop spirit" roaming inside the village. But the Bangkok doctors protect Ya Yip believing the local sorcerer is crazy and bring her back inside the village. There is conflict between the local sorcerer and Bangkok doctors. The local sorcerer wants to keep his influence on the villagers. The daughter of the local sorcerer helps the Bangkokian doctor. Her father has changed his behavior recently being easily angry. The local sorcerer gets issues with his own wife and daughter as he is doing more harm than good to villagers. He is diagnosing a malaria case as a spirit possession (ผีเข้า) that needs to be chased (ผีไล่). Finally the local sorcerer flees from the village after stabbing Ya Yip. He was finally also a "Phi pop spirit"... Recipes are same as the previous movies. Many continuous funny but tiring and repetitives chases happen between Ya Yip "phi pop" and the villagers. Single villagers prefer watching the lady in swimming suit than the lady in sarong. The movie is still targeted for rural audience but with more and more urban life and taste influence. Funny comedian Kiet Kijcharouen (เกียรติ กิจเจริญ) is now here. He also participated to the complete Boonchu (บุญชู) movies serie.

Four men bloodily rob a bank and kill all guards and employees. They have long hairs. They are part of a mafia gang. Ayu (Sorapong Chatree), a former ranger, is arrested when buying medicine for his sick mother as he has also long hairs. He is accused without proofs and beaten by the Police to get his confession. He flees from the prison with another inmate Pao (Pao Porapak). They are chased by the police in the jungle. Two mafia groups also affront each other in the jungle. One group is lead by a young lady. She is injured but rescued by Ayu. Unfortunately Ayu arrives home too late. His mother is already dead. His teammate Pao is in fact a covered policeman who wants to trick the robbers. The mafia group kills Ayu's family members and catches him. The young lady is the daughter of the mafia group's boss that got killed recently. She spared Ayu's life. Ayu is rescued by the policeman Pao but he decides to take revenge over the mafia group. Similar to a a Thai copy of Rambo II, Ayu carries a huge machine gun with ammunitions over the shoulder. A butchery happens with heavy spurts of blood. All policemen are killed. Everybody dies including the mafia leaders and Ayu. Sorapong Chatree played in many serie B action movies in year 1989. In 1980s, action movies were still very popular and actors often carried machine guns in those films.

Thai บินเดี่ยวเหยี่ยวพระกาฬ was released in year 1987 and lasts 1h18mn. It is an estimation only as the movie seems to have been released in level 2 standalone theaters (โรงชั้นสอง) only. It is a low budget movie. The soundtrack belongs to other movies such as “Shaft”. There are quite a few nice sequences with Sorapong Chatree but the overall film editing is average. It is in fact a movie made with other movies sequences from Sorapong Chatree so that is why the editing is so poor! The numerous love sequences seem here only to ensure the movie can last 1h18. A new police officer (ผู้กอง) Kamtenthong (Sorapong Chatree) arrives in North of Thailand. A ring leader called Dam has dirty businesses such as helping people to cross Thai border illegally, drugs traffic, smuggling of weapons. Many fights and shootings happen between wealthy men (พ่อเลี้ยง) teams. Dam (Rith Luecha) benefits of it until police starts to involve into his business also to stop the numerous killings. Finally police rushes into Dam's ranch and neutralize the ruffians and hitmen. But the leaders are not here. Dam's secretary, Pen, is the one informing the police. It causes the ruffians’ leaders to believe the other team betrays them as police is always there when weapons trading is happening. Dam is finally also neutralized through a final shooting. Pen was an uncovered policeman. It is a typical Thai action movie from 1980s mixing some Hong Kong style action sequences such as flying jump. Year 1987 was very prolific with action movies as Panna Rittikrai started to release his own action movies also. Movie บินเดี่ยวเหยี่ยวพระกาฬ features a few actors from 1970s action movies such as Phairoj Jaising but they look quite tired except Sorapong Chatree.

Three comics are doing shows on the street and ask for tip money. They found a suitcase full of banknotes on the street. They give it back to the owner and refuse any reward. The owner, called Truat, is impressed by their kind heart, so recruits them. Truat is sick and doctor tells him he doesn't have a lot of time left to live. He asks them to get a specific medicine for him. If they don't help him, he will give all his heritage to social organizations. He has only half of the paper giving hints on this medecine. The other part is located in Pattaya with a psychic called "Chi Fat". Then they now need to find a beggar. Later on they have to find a girl named Madonna. Then they face two brigands groups (Red versus Yellow) wishing to get their money. Then they help a man following a weird operation in hospital. They find love during their quest of the medecine paper. This is a typical Thai weak comedy from 1980s decade with a "katoey" (กะเทย) in the funny and silly role.

A Japanese soldier is stranded in Thailand. His plane crashed. He is rescued by a Thai family. The Japanese gets married with their daughter but she dies when giving birth to a daughter. Twenty years have passed. An armed group arrive in the village. They are looking for the old Japanese gold that is supposed to be hidden inside a cave. Yem (Sorapong Chatree) is protecting the group. Another armed group is already occupying the area. Gun fights occur between the two groups. Following various fights, kidnapings and so on... the Japanese former soldier triggers an explosion inside the cave so that nobody can get the gold. Phra Athit (พระอาทิตย์) means sun but also gold. This movie has nothing to do with the movie "ลูกสาวพระอาทิตย์" shot in 1968. It is a typical grade B action movie from decade 1980s with kung fu fights and gunfight sequences. It includes a little of romance and a lonesome hero who prefers to stay in the forest than going back to modern world. Favorite sentence of such movies is "cha tham arai to pai" (จะทำอะไรต่อไป) - What shall we do next? During the anti-communist years, Sorapong Chatree played soldiers and mercenaries in perhaps 100 action films. Most of these were low-profile, though some were popular as they played to the national sentiment.

This movie related to a vampire is another B grade Thai horror movie. Dead bodies are found in a village. Doctor Solot is ordering his caretaker to find bodies part. Nobody in the village can meet or see doctor Solot. Doctor Solot has one exorbitant eye and needs to finish a mysterious job. He wishes to make a perfect creature with dead elements. Meanwhile a few Bangkokian friends (Eung, Dong, Vichak) arrive in the village. The Frankenstein creature created by doctor Solot is defeated. At the same time a vampire spirit (วิญญาณ) is released unfortunately by a villager lady called Tengnam. The spirit was prisoner of the bottle previously by the local sorcerer (หมอผี). The vampire, called Maekin (เมฆินทร์), takes possession of doctor Solot's body. He is looking for beautiful ladies blood. He likes a young lady called Eungkam. A nun (Nang Suchatada) arrives in the village. The vampire wishes to get nun Suchatada as his wife. The nun, the Bangkokian friends and Eungkam unify their efforts to fight against the vampire. The local sorcerer contacts an hermit (ฤาษี) to know how to get rid of the vampire. Three weapons are needed to kill the vampire, i.e. jasmine flower (ดอกมะลิ), a magic sword and blood from virgin. Tengnam is also under the vampire spell. She gives poisoned fruits to the local sorcerer who dies. Anyway the nun succeeds to get all ingredients to fight the vampire. The vampire is defeated by the nun but many villagers and Vichak die. This B grade movie has a little budget, simple Fx effects and features many deaths. It is a remake of the movie shot in 1973 with Sombat Methanee.

Among the ruffians, there is a ruthless lady with a whip, who like women. The ruffians disagree and fight together. Around 70 girls are held captive and are forced to work. Some conflicts erupt between girls also as the ruthless lady has a favorite. At night time, a few inmate ladies try to escape. Four succeed to go far in the jungle but ruffians are chasing them, but they are finally captured back. They are tortured in front of others to give example. Inmate ladies are forced to work hard in the camp. One of them trying to flee again and is shot dead by Chat. Supakorn Srisawat tries his luck at nighttime in the women dorm but he gets punished by the girls. Tanit starts to love one of the ladies called Chaba. He has a plan to release all ladies. He explains to them the camp details so that they can get M16 guns stored in one hut. Fightings occur between ladies and ruffians. All protagonists die except Tanit and Chaba. Tanit is finally arrested by Thai police as he was involved in the camp management. This movie reminds about movie สัตว์สาวในกรงเสือ / Girls in the Tiger Cage (1976).

Dr Montree is a middle age man celebrating his birthday. He receives a big gift from England. It contains a coffin with an embalmed body inside. During the next full moon happens, the body wakes up. It is a vampire (ผีดิบดูดเลือด) but a foreign vampire (ผีฝรั่ง). Few gags happen as the foreign vampire has difficulty to get along with Thai ghosts. This vampire has the physical appearance of Frankenstein. He brings a young lady to his coffin and makes her his wife. A love story starts between human and ugly vampire. The vampire wishes to change his voice as it is too sharp. He proposes an exchange to Dr Montree. The vampire can now sing folk (ลูกทุ่ง) songs with a pitched voice. When the vampire realizes he lost his masculinity, he chases Dr Montree (เอาของกูคืนมา) to get it back. This is really a crazy movie and Lor Tok's performance is not enough to avoid the sinking. This movie uses Culture Club's Boy George as soundtrack. It lasts only 1h10 so either the montage is really bad or it has been censored. เดชผีดิบ first movie with Sombat Methanee was released in year 1968.

Thai movie อิทธิฤทธิ์น้ำมันพราย was released in year 1984. The VCD released by Solar Marketing Ltd lasts 1h52mn. A previous version released on VHS lasts 1h47mn. The movie mixes comedy, scary, sexy sequences. An Indian master imprisons a sorcerer, called Mae Mo (แม่มด), in a pot believing she is neutralized. Phi Chim (Somsak Chaisongkram) and Yupin are having a baby. She is pregnant for three months. An old grandmother gives a ring and transmits some power (มรดก) to young lady Yupin. At nighttime, Yupin becomes a fearful spirit (ผีกระสือ). Some animals are killed, and their blood was suck. Jim (Tanit Pongmanoon) and Nit (Joomjim Khemlek) are requested by a monk (อาจารย์) to investigate. Meanwhile a new fake master (Supakorn Srisawat) arrives in the village. Villagers ask for his help (ผีออกอาละวาด) to neutralise the spirit (ปล้ำผี). Of course, he completely fails. Mae Mo wishes Yupin to open the pot (กระบอก) in which she is held prisoner. As Yupin refuses, Mae Mo forces her and threatens to disclose the truth to her husband Chim. Only Nit can open the pot so Yupin needs to convince him. Jim and Nit meet a young lady, called Saree, at a waterfall. Nit and Jim promise to find her real father. Funny chasing sequences happen between fierceful spirit Yupin and villagers as she wishes to suck their blood. Yupin succeeds to convince Nit to open the pot and Mae Mo is released. Magical fights happen between Nit, Jim and Mae Mo. Mae Mo is finally defeated and Yupin becomes human again.

Thai Taiwanese movie "King Kong vs The Snake Phantom" / งูยักษ์ / 金刚大战蛇妖精 was released in year 1982 and lasts 1h34mn. It seems the Taiwanese version was only released in year 1987. The movie is lost in Thailand but a Chinese version with English subtitles is still available and was released under VHS format by Taiwanese company New Ship Enterprise LTD. The movie was certainly cut from the original version in order to fit the VHS format. A group of snake men led by Chat Mongkolchai storm a Miu hill tribe village and kill all villagers. A master is requested to get rid of the snake men. His team, including Chaiyan Sorakrai and his sister Piyamas Monayakol, is looking for the snakes. A rare golden snake is captured. The master is killed but many snakes get cut into pieces during the fightings. The snake king wishes to revenge. The snake men attack the village again. Thanks to a Chinese monk, the snake men are pushed back. Disguised as the monk, the snake king convinces the fierce village fighters to go on a quest. The target is that they get killed while trying to find a mystic nun. One of the village ladies become pregnant with a snake man. The Chinese monk cuts her belly full of snakes. They finally meet Ratanaporn Intarakamhaeng as nun in a cave and get support from her as she offers a powerful magic golden statue. They are attacked by some forest fighters on the way back. Chaiyan Sorakrai defeats Pao Porapak. He exchanges the release of his sister and others versus Pao Porapak’s life. The movie ends up by a giant fight between the King snake and the powerful spirit present inside the golden statue. The King snake is defeated.

Certainly such movie wanted to take profit from Jackie Chan’s celebrity. Ruffians are looking for a jade. As the father doesn’t disclose the location of the jad, his son called Jackie is beaten by three men. Hopefully he is rescued by a group of two men and a young woman called Kailye. Jacky got the Flying jade embedded in his body so ruffians are chasing him. This stone allows the owner to fly and to jump very high. Kailye and her father, Luechai Natnat, train Jacky so that he can better defend himself. Jacky is stronger but not enough to defeat ruffians. So he gets help from other men (Bruce Thai). The ruffians' team includes Bolo Yeung. Jackie gets additional training from an old drunken master. Trainings take a big part of the movie. The movie ends up with a confrontation with the Snake gang. Jacky Chen, Kailye, Bruce Thai defeat the ruffians but Kailye's father dies. The dubbing is pretty poor.

The movie is the second opus of "Mae Nak" (แม่นาค) shot in the same year 1978. Life has finally regained after the first opus and Mak, former Mae Nak's husband, has new interest with one young lady. An old fisherman uncovers the pot made of clay, in which the Buddhist monk kept Mae Nak spirit. It was lying on the bottom of the river. As the fisherman opens it, the spirit is freed to roam again. Mae Nak is looking for her husband and remove roofs from village homes to check inside. Same as many 1970 Thai horror movies, Fx effects are poor. Such movie includes typical repetitive jokes about unaware villagers talking to ghosts and then fleeing when they discover they are talking to real ghosts, or a joke when many men can hide in a water jar and then flee when a ghost is entering also, or comical psychics (หมอผี) unable to chase away ghosts whatever they are Thai, Indian or Chinese. Finally only a Buddhist monk novice can stop Mae Nak. Once again Nak and Mak promise to love each other in next life (ถ้าชาติหน้ามีจริงให้เราไปเกิดใช้ชีวิตรวมกันอีก). Mae Nak movies are famous as more than 15 remakes have been done and Mae Nak story is part of Thai culture but this remake doesn't bring any added value despite the presence of Sombat Methanee.

Thai movie ไอ้สู้สองสลึง was released in year 1978. It is available on a VCD lasting 1h58. Kwan (Nirut Sirijanya) and Yot (Phairoj Jaising) help two ladies harassed by six ruffians in a village. They both flee the village for Bangkok due to different reasons (one due to a unwanted wedding and the other as a bored rich guy - เศรษฐีผู้เดินดิน). They only do crazy things such as stealing chicken donated to Buddha, burning a car engine...They end up in a city in a very bad hotel but are expelled as a fire starts due to a BBQ in the room. They eat in an expensive restaurant but do not have money to pay the bill. Kokheng is playing a funny waiter. Butr (Duangcheewan Komolsen) is dreaming that Kwan would be her prince. They have to work for the restaurant to pay back. Tamanoon (Sombat Methanee) only arrives at 1h02mn despite being the main actor in the movie credits. Tamanoon's father wishes to marry him with one of the three daughters of Boo Wibunnan, the restaurant owner. Tamanoon wish to marry the three girls but finally choose one, i.e. Ratchanida (Prissana Chabaprai). Ratchanida is not happy by this. They plan to play tricks on Tamanoon with Kwan and Yot’s help by using drinks causing flatulences. But Boo is the one to drink it! Some ruffians kidnap the three daughters and ask for one million baht ransom. Finally thanks to Yot and Tamanoon, the ladies are released. Grateful, weddings are arranged by Boo. This movie is mixing comedy, romance and some action.

Waen Fa has a son called Rom Fa. She is too excessive and wants her son's love only for her with no share with his wife Maria. Klao Fa is the daughter of Maria and Rom Fa. Maria is not able to support the pressure from Waen Fa and leaves the palace. She marries a doctor. Klao Fa has a personality problem as her parents have divorced and make their new life without her. Suey and Klao Fa are the same person. Finally Roi and Klao Fa marry together. This movie has old picture without much color. Soundtrack is new and there is no more Sombat Methanee's voice.
