There are still many old Thai movies standalone theaters in Bangkok.
The Theater Krung Siam Rama standalone theater is located in Bangkok near the Don Meuang airport
(สะพานใหม่).
Thai full name is กรุงสยามรามา.

Some initiatives from ordinary people happen to raise interest in old theater buildings. Shopping malls are here only to grab your money. There is no more community spirit like it happened with old standalone theaters.
There is limited info but it seems Theater Krung Siam Rama is closed since
a few years ago (around year 2011)
Nowaday the theater is still huge but closed. It is possible
to go partly inside at the ground floor level.
The impressive architecture, the stairs, the ceiling and huge doors are
still here but the theater is permanently closed.
Despite the Theater Krung Siam Rama is now closed and has become a badminton hall,
the owner has kept the lobby unchanged and posters can still be seen inside.
Theater Krung Siam Rama's lobby is still impressive and reminds about an era long gone.
Theater Krung Siam Rama is really a huge building. Maybe more than one
thousand people could watch movie in this theater.
Nowadays Theater Krung Siam Rama is permanently closed. The cinema room
features a badminton court inside.
As many Thai theaters in the past, the Theater Krung Siam Rama is located near
a market. There are big marquees mentioning the theater name on the two main entrances
leading to the market.
Some people mentioned that before the Theater Krung Siam Rama closed
permanently, only the second floor (ชั้นสอง / ชั้นบน) was still opened.
The first floor (ชั้นหนึ่ง / ชั้นล่าง) was already closed.
Before the Theater Krung Siam Rama closed permanently, tickets for second floor were sold
50 baht.
The doors leading to the theater mezzanine are closed. It is now forbidden
to enter...
When the movie was over, no light was set on. The next movie was starting
immediately.
Movies advertisements were paint on big show cards and displayed on the cinema facade and also
under the marquees at the market entrances.

The best years for Theater Krung Siam Rama (โรงหนังกรุงสยามรามา) were around 1976 to 1979. Speciality was Thai action movies.
