There are still many old Thai movies standalone theaters in Bangkok.

Lido Theatre (ลิโด้ โรงภาพยนต์) is located in Siam Square. It was built in year 1968. The full address is Siam Square Soi 2, Rama 1 Rd., Pathum Wan, Pathumwan, Bangkok.

During year 2012, there was a news that Chulalongkorn University shall spend a huge amount of money to develop a new shopping mall on the plot that now houses Lido Theatre in Siam Square.

The Lido Theatre was damaged in a fire in year 1993. Following renovation, its main theatre was split into three halls.

The Lido Theatre is known as an independent art film house. Since years rumors mentioned a department store replacing the three-screen Lido.

The Lido's contract has expired at the end of year 2016. After the International Film Festival (April 2017) and Silent Film Festival (May 2017) took place, Lido is supposed to close forever. The owner said the building is unsafe and shall be renovated.
