149 covers have been identified wrong with Lepso Studio's VCD.
Lepso Studio VCDs are only sold 39 baht or even less. Anyway many Thai movies fans are sceptical (ทำกันมากเหลือเกิน) when buying a Lepso Studio new release as it could be again wrongful. Some people complain that it is linked to film owner copyright issues so Lepso needs to change the title and the cover, or linked to low budget so no time and no money to prepare correct VCD posters, or linked to marketing strategy to attract new customers with fake modified covers.
Even if Lepso is wrong on cover and title, they keep the right actors / actresses. So by checking the names in the cover upper right corner, it is possible to identify the movie. It is not fraud discs (แผ่นผี). Initially in decade 2000s, Lepso sold many titles with original cover and movies rights. Later on in decade 2010s, they sold titles where they maybe didn't have the rights so they changed cover, title and even removed parts of the movies to reduce legal claims.
The issue is that nowadays many people expect movies for free. So even older movies have even less value! That is a shame! The result in Thailand is that there are less and less companies releasing old Thai movies. We always complain on Lepso Studio's bad covers but it is certainly of the last companies active for old Thai movies! It seems that they don't release new titles any more.
