On the 24th day of the 9th month of the Lunar Calendar, there is Tei Chong Wong (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva - 梵語) Festival featuring Chinese Opera.
- Parade
On the last day of the festival, a parade happens around Kwun Tong.
The main highlight is the visit of two local Chinese temples.
This parade is called Deity-inviting parade. Deities from two local Chinese temples
in Kwun Tong have been invited in Tei Chong Wong temple during ten days.
So there is a parade at the beginning of festival to invite deities to Tei Chong Wong temple and a parade at the end of the festival to bring them back to their own temple.
The first stop is Tai Wong Ye Chinese temple. It is located on the hill behind Tsui Ying House,
Tsui Ping South Estate.

In the past, the parade featured about 200 members and was a bit event in Kwun Tong.
Respect is given to this local deity before going to the next Chinese temple.
The parade includes unicorn, palanquin to carry deities, colorful banners, traditional
noisy music instruments, women on fake horses, women carrying bunch of flowers...
Next stop is the Sam Shan Kwok Wong Temple. This temple is located on a small hill in
Kwun Tong.

The name of Sam Shan Kwok Wong Chinese temple refers to three famous mountains
in Guangdong province.
The parade lasts two hours and is now back to the Tei Chong Wong temple.

festival.
