A large statue of a flying Hanuman is outside the assembly hall in Wat Phailom.
Abbots need to organize temple fairs with stands, fireworks, likay,
outdoor movies to have people visit the temple and make donations.
"Bamrung wat" (บำรุงวัด) means to
enrich / maintain the temple.

Some abbots want peace and silence so may not organise fair inside their
temples. Unfortunately some cases of bad abbots abusing money donations
(กินเงินวัด) have been seen before.
Money from donation boxes or from temple fair is on purpose underestimated!

Some bad abbots might stay until they are expelled by villagers or until
they disrobe to use the money they dishonestly saved.

Luang Pho Poon is famous and kind hearted monk.
He was famous for making amulets for devotees.
Luang Pho Poon passed away in year 2005.

The ordination hall and assembly hall in Wat Phailom are
beautifully decorated and are worth a visit. The temple is quite
close to Phra Pathom Chedi, which is Nakhon Pathom's main touristic
attraction.

Luang Pho Poon is also well known for having done many charitable works
such as building schools and hospitals with money donations.

Sometimes in front the ordination hall's entrance, there is a couple of
"YAK" (ยักข์), which are huge statues representing giants
with big teeth. Those "YAK" are supposed to frighten the spirits or demons who would
like to enter the ordination hall.
